Dr. Monila Rahimi, DO

Amazing doctor. Helped me with my depression and anxiety. Highly recommended.

My child was admitted via the emergency room to a in-network inpatient psychiatry hospital and Dr. Rahimi was the doctor on staff. I assumed that the Doctors on staff were also in-network and I did not have any say in who saw my daughter because she was in the hospital. Dr. Rahimi made the experience for my daughter horrible. My daughter felt like she was doing something wrong and that Dr. treated her like she should was just making things up. The Dr. told me that I needed to just be harder on my daughter. This is totally inappropriate when dealing with teens with mental health issues. Her office then waited too long to bill my insurance and fail to provide medical records needed to substantiate the charges to my insurance. They then billed me over $3000 for the charges that they couldn't provide records for, a year later. When I called to work out the bill, Kelly, the billing rep. was so rude. She treated me with hatred and disrespect. I spent 6 months trying to work out things… between this office and my insurance with full support from my insurance company. The Doctor's office waited well beyond a reasonable time and then I had to appeal with my insurance company because it had been over a year. When I tried to get the medical records from the Dr. they told me that they don't have them. How can they charge me without any records? They said that they didn't have to settle with the insurance and that I was liable for the amount that the insurance didn't pay because the Dr. failed to provide proof of service. Keep in mind that this is a mental health Dr. that has caused my family stress, anxiety, fear, financial strain and anger. PLEASE don't use this Dr. Monila Rahimi. Her and her staff are rude and have some sort of superiority complex. I am still working out the appeal with my insurance company after a year of stress and I would not be surprised if I learn through all this that they fraudulently charged the insurance for services that were not rendered and are not trying to get me to pay them.

My daughter was a patient at Sutter Psych a year ago. She received excellent care. However, we chose Sutter because they took our insurance. You can imagine our surprise when we got a bill from Dr. Rahimi for 5,750.00 because she is an out of network provider with our insurance. So I am left with this huge bill and no explanation. I feel duped… who would agree to such an exhorbitsnt amount of money for psychiatric care. Had I know I would have brought her home and figured out something else. Shame on Dr. Rahimi for not being forthcoming and shame on Sutter Psych for hiring someone that isn’t in the same network. So dumb.

They then billed me the entire amount. When I called to be sure they had the correct insurance amount. The office person was so rude. She treated me with hatred and disrespect. I spent 2 weeks trying to work out things between this office and my insurance with full support from my insurance company. THIS Doctor's office REFUSED to take the insurance's money. They said that they didn't have to settle with the insurance and that I was liable for the entire amount. Keep in mind that this is a mental health DR.!!! They caused me stress, anxiety, fear, financial strain and finally a loss of hope. So much for that oath huh Doctor!!!!! PLEASE don't use this Dr. Her staff is awful. I won't wish them on a death row inmate.

Dr Rahimi is the most compassionate and caring psychiatrist. She really listens and follows up.
