Dr. Monique Vizel-Schwartz, MD

Dr Vizel Schwartz is a bright and kind physician. She has been my doctor for over 35 years. She is the best.

Please don't waste your time and money with this doctor. She sent me someone else's prescription and it was days before she sent me the correct one. She failed to send my blood work in the proper container so that the necessary test could be done, and then lied to me about why the test wasn't done (I called the lab and asked) and that I would have to go to another lab and have the blood taken again. She is only in the office 3 days a week, she says she will call you back with your test results and never does -- you have to call the office several times (mostly getting the service) and try to catch her. If that isn't enough, the office is situated so everyone in the waiting area can hear your business. The doctor's office is the tiniest one I've ever been in so you are really close at all times. And the office assistant seems to be extremely inexperienced and very young.

In the 80's Dr. Vizel treated my mother Rosa Diaz for many years. I took my mother to her office every week for her chemo. It was always a pleasure seeing Dr. Vizel, my mother & I loved her warmth, caring, always accessible, impeccable manners. When my mother went to hospice, Dr. Vizel gave me her home phone number to keep her posted on her final days. In all my years dealing with doctors, I have never met one not even similar to her. Dr. Vizel is always in my heart, no words to thank her enough for what she did for my mother. Dr. Vizel excels in every way. I highly recommend her! I live in Florida now and I wish to have her near me to have her as my internist.

Dr. Vizel-Schwartz is board certified in internal medicine, hematology, and oncology -- a true triple threat to a huge spectrum of health challenges. Please note: She is always busy. Given how many horrible and "meh" doctors there are in NY, you can see why the good ones have lines out the door. Plan on sitting in her waiting room for a while, no matter what time you have an appointment. This is because she spends quality time with each patient. She is worth the wait, however, because when it's your turn to go into the examination room, she will attend to all of your healthcare needs, and will not be in a rush to get you out the door in five minutes or less. I find her very affable, and her years of experience make her an outstanding diagnostician.

In a world where so many doctors increasingly process patients as cash cows, minimizing time spent with them to see as many as possible in as short a time as possible, ordering unnecessary tests to fatten their income and considering time spent explaining things to their patients as time wasted, Dr. Vizel-Schwartz is the rare exception. She is warm, caring and actually wants to get to know her patients and develop a plan for the best care possible. Dr. Vizel-Schwartz is approachable on every level, even providing an e-mail address for questions or concerns that arise outside the office visit and I have never had my inquiries left unresponded to. Would that all doctors were that accessible and had her bedside and deskside manner. At age 73, I have seen more than my fair share of doctors for various health issues. Some have been awful, some "meh", some satisfactory. Dr. Vizel excels in every way. I highly recommend her and have treasured her as my internist for many years.

The office is completely disorganized. Will not be returning.

Dr Vizel has always provided concise diagnoses and preventive care solutions.She is personable, no nonsense and self assured.Her staff is very professional and follow up with requests in a timely manner. I have recommended Dr Vizel to several friends and will continue to do so.
