Dr. Monsuru Olatunde Ibraheem, MD

Doctor Ibraheem took exceptional care of a close family member after suffering a traumatic brain injury. He goes above and beyond for his patients. When he comes into the hospital room, he doesn’t try to scoot in and out. He takes his time, is thorough and truly cares deeply for his patients, their needs and what is best for them. He went up to bat and battled with the insurance company for us... again just truly goes above and beyond. We are forever grateful for him and the care he provided to our family member during such a hard time for our family. He gives me hope that there are still amazing doctors out there, he is definitely one of them.

My mother Ruth had the good fortune of being a patient of Dr. Ibraheem at St. Rose hospital on Lake Mead. He treated her very well and with much care everytime he visited her hospital room and if it wasn't for her and Anna and a few others she may have spent a much longer time in the hospital.

Our family has had the good fortune of being under the care of Dr.I on several occasions, both at the ER and in rehab hospitals. He is great, very kind and he knows his stuff! No one is happy about a lengthy hospital stay or recovery time, but if you need it, Dr.I will make sure you are comfortable and getting the best from all the people taking care of you. He organized the other specialists and presented the information from them in a way that is easy for the non medical people (like me) to understand- much better, especially during a stressful situation. If I ever wind up in the ER myself, I can only hope and pray to have such a kind and informative doctor on my side!

At onset Dr. Ibraheem comes across as caring, compassionate and knowledgable, if not a bit arrogant. However, he is NOT a team player ... he does not play well with his peers, which can and usually is determental to his patients health. I was under his care while in the hospital, he spent much time with me himself, but would not order the specialist I needed - he said "I don't like to involve other physicians because it just gets confusing" ... I responded that "one person cannot know everything, that is why there is specialists" In an exhaustive response he summed up that he in fact does know just about everything. A One-Man-Band in the subway is fine, but not when it comes to the finite mind of man and our mysteriously magnificiant body.But equally as important as the above, Dr. Ibraheem is not truthful. The Pysicians Code says he must ALWAYS be truthful and in his belief of your Diagnosis, he might be? I am not a physician. However, when it comes to his honesty in regards to what… and where is best for you to be treated, he will tell you he "is on your side and will fight the insurance to keep you where you will continue to get the best treatment for your illness" all while he is signing your discharge papers to send you to a place known, charged and proven to have/give substandard care - because like I stated ... Above all else, HE IS A COMPANY MAN!In his defense, pleasing his company, UNITED HEALTHCARE, can be quite lucrative I would imagine, given it is one of the largest conglomerates in the country. Especially compared to you, a simple individual that can only cost him should he spend too much of his company's money on you!In ending, if you need medical advise or should I say, an opinion from an internist ... he is your man ... if you need comprehensive treatment that requires testing and God forbid a stay in the hospital or the need of a specialist (of any kind)... Know you will get only what the Company wants to afford you ... HE WILL NOT BE YOUR ADVOCATE. On a side note: I truly pray the Obama Healthcare plan uses United Healthcare's plan as a WHAT NOT TO CONTINUE TO DO instead of a blueprint for an extemely financially lucrative business - which is exactly what UNITED HEALTHCARE IS! Unfortunately, as viewed by Obama, we the insured are lucky just to be insured ... I am sure he and his family are not insured with UNITED HEALTHCARE! I FOR ONE DO NOT FEEL LIKE ONE OF THE LUCKY ONES!
