Dr. Montgomery Clayton Brower, MD

I was Dr. Brower's patient during his residency at McLean. He saw me through electroshock therapy. I was given too many shocks. Afterward, I suffered from mental confusion for a long time. No one at McLean Hospital wanted to admit that shock had damaged me so much. Rather than admit the hospital's error, which was really gross malpractice, they lied to me and to my family. My family and boyfriend had noticed the changes in me following ECT, but no one was listening. Instead of admitting fault, the hospital claimed I had a personality disorder. So I had suddenly developed this after ECT? Or was is brain damage? I wish they'd been honest. I did get over the ECT effects but it took a year and a half. I said goodbye to Dr. Brower and wished him well working in forensics. I have occasionally seen articles where he is quoted. I am dismayed that this doctor continues to overdiagnose people with personality disorders, which are a death sentence on anyone's medical record. I was only lucky… that the next doctors I saw removed the personality disorder diagnosis from my records immediately. I have no clue what he's like now. I wonder if he still speaks way too loudly. That, I must say, was annoying and embarrassing. I always wondered if his loud speech was indicative of his puffed-up sense of self-importance.
