Rude, when I tried to give history after waiting 6hrs to give him her history, I called when I ran home to change, he told me he did not have time to speak to me, to talk to him the next day. My grandmother ended up choking that night Next day he told me to be be silent, he did not have time. she choked on dinner that night for 1 1/2hrs. No Dr. came to check on her that night, while this was happening, even though the nurse page the night hospitalist... I came first thing the next am to speak to him. As I tried, he told me to be silent, he did not have time to listen to me, he had 21 other patients to see. He was so rude & condescending that the patient in the next bed made a complaint before she went home, & the family member of the other pt said I had to do something.. I did get a new Dr. at the end of the second afternoon who was very proactive & got things going ... Dr. K came back 6hrs later (not knowing he wasn't her Dr. anymore) to pick up yelling, told my grandmother 88yrs… old - something was wrong with my head & I was doing her no good.With 3 people in the room. He had told me in the am when I said her hearing aid was dead, "she can read my lips" if he read her chart, she is legally blind & could not see his face, let alone hear him... As he was yelling - I explained to him he was no longer her Dr. he said I couldn't do that ... Anyhow, The nursing staff & support staff A++, and for 2 days she got much better care, although she now has pneumonia from the food she aspirated the night before. pneumonia in an 88yr old very bad thing.... I don't know where we are going from here as her new Doc rotated out, and tonight todays Dr. saw her for the first time at 8:45pm - made sure I knew he had worked 12hrs so new review I imagine if he doesn't get a good nights sleep .... ?
