Dr. Mrudula Suryakant Shukla, MD

I went to Dr. Shukla for my first Ob/GYN visit when I was 21. I was extremely nervous and was filled with tremendous anxiety. She did not appease my nerves at all. In fact, she did not explain the checkup, she did not talk to me beforehand, she came in and realized that I was 21 and assumed from my nerves and my age that I was pregnant. She asked bluntly even before reading my chart or giving me a checkup or asking if I was sexually active if I was pregnant. I said no in shock and told her that I was just extremely nervous. She did not say anything, and just told me to put my legs on the stirrups. Without an explanation she just inserted the speculum in me. I was in tremendous pain, and asked her to stop. She held down my legs and tried to continue. I backed away and then she stopped. She asked me to get dressed and told me to come to her office. She rudely gave me a prescription for a sonogram because she said that she could not check inside because I would not let her. I… left and never came back. This woman is horrible. I went to another Ob/Gyn and had a completely different experience. She was kind and gentle and the visit was fine. I was still nervous (even moreso), but she alleviated my nerves. Do not go to this woman.
