Dr. Mudita Bhatia, MD

I'm surprised by the reviews here, hopefully, that means she's better now than when I saw her. Years ago when I was in college, I saw Dr. Bhatia in Lakewood for heart palpitations & fainting spells. The staff and nurse were nice, but Dr. Bhatia was very curt and treated me like a hypochondriac from the start. My grandmother had 3 (eventually fatal) heart attacks before she died at only 50, my dad had bypass surgery in his 40's, and my cousin died from a heart defect as an infant- so I didn't want to mess around. I relayed all of this information but after answering yes to, "Do you use marijuana?", she went from rude to belligerent & said, "You know that's illegal." & "What if someone were to call the police about that?" (I still don't know if that was a rhetorical hypothetical or a misguided threat), because who ever heard of a college student trying weed before? Crazy! I was hooked to an EKG for less than 30 seconds, then she insinuated it was from smoking pot months before the… fainting even started. So, I went to another doctor who ended up finding a cardiac myxoma. Years later, I'm still disgusted by how dangerously flippant she was.

it takes to long to get an appointment when sick.

Dr. Bhatia is wonderful but the telephone wait to make an appointment or to speak with Dr. Bhatia leaves a lot to be desired. When the telephone is finally answered, you can tell that the person answering is not paying attention to what is being said otherwise the same question (like first name) would not have to be repeated. I suggest simply engaging more people to answer the telephone.
