Dr. Muhammad Khalid Waseem, MD

Dr Waseem needs to have his license removed. He is a heartless non caring man with a napoleanic complex who feels threatened by anyone who wants him to do the right thing. He only cares about the money not the patients. Stay away

Doctor Waseem was my doctor for years, had seen me through many illnesses and was even a family friend. My father is a physician as well and when my father accompanied me to doctor's visits there was a lot of complimenting shared between the two while Dr. Waseem also expressed "how much he cared about my well being". Our relationship was terminated from his end due to a recommendation not being followed. I had an abscess on my stomach and his recommendation was to go to Meritus here in Hagerstown. I went, and the rate was hours long. I went instead to Johns Hopkins, as they have better care and the time wasted at Meritus would be shorter than driving and waiting at Johns Hopkins. For whatever reason, my not using Meritus bothered Dr. Waseem so over the phone and without apology or with an ounce of emotion he said "I have to kick you out of my practice" That is what stung, he didn't say what the reason was or that he was obligated to for legal reasons, all he said as a direct quote was… "I have to kick you out of my practice." In truth, he is an idiot. He can treat very basic problems, but if you feel an issue is greater than what his prescription for ibuprofen calls for, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Also, this man is SCARED TO DEATH of the employees he hired for clerical work in his office. He has shared many times how he is concerned they would turn him in if he wrote any pain prescriptions, anxiety medications or complex testings that insurance doesn't pay for with ease. It is actually very disconcerting that he practices this way, a doctor isn't a doctor if he doesn't have the guts to treat a patient in whatever way they NEED, not what keeps him safe. He has poor credentials, he was a puppet at Meritus as they established themselves and now spends his time between his office and retirement homes, places he doesn't have to think so hard. Visit at your own risk.
