Dr. Muhammed Aslam Khan, MD

I went to Thomas for a routine accident, to get precautionary CT scan because I hit my head. The doctor spent about 5 minutes with me, twice. The radiologist billed me $350. The Hospital billed $3000 (that was excessive as well, but not nearly as back as the MD). This Dr, after telling me the CT scan looked fine, and he would send someone to check me out, never did. My daugher and I waited another half and hour, then finally had to go complain at the nurses desk, where the MD and 5-6 nurses were all standing around talking and laughjng. I was in the ER a total of 2 hours and a half hour of that was doing the CT scan. This doctor spend MAYBE 15-20 minutes and then bills me $1800. That’s fraud. I didn’t receive any itemized bill. I’ve seen no explanation for such an exhorbanant fee, and I won’t be paying it. I’ve talked to the billing people several times and they said they can’t adjust the bill because it appears insurance may be rebilling it. I suspect there is insurance fraud… going on as well because they just assume they can overbill, have insurance knock it down, and still get an excessive fee. Not going to happen. Assuming the MD spent the ENTIRE visit with me, that would be $900 and hour. He spent 10 minutes, tops, with me, so maybe $9000 an hour? Or his patients are supposed to pay him to ignore them and flirt with nurses at their stations? Ridiculous practice and billing. They should be ashamed. I will be seeing them in court soon I am sure.
