Dr. Mujtaba Iqbal Butt, MD

The visit was very nice and everyone was polite. I always stay awake during my colonoscopies but this was done in a big rush. I felt chronic cramping when this happened and the doctor wouldn't slow down or stop after asking him nicely to do this. I will not going back to this physician

I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Butt! Due to a long familial history of colon cancer, I made an appointment to see him in his office to discuss a plan for me going forward. He was very empathetic and insightful in helping me plan for further work up. I then scheduled an EGD and colonoscopy At Orange Park Medical Center. He is very friendly, funny, and AMAZING! His bedside manner was fabulous! I would goto him all over again, and would recommend ANYONE and EVERYONE I know to him. I Cannot sing his praises enough!

Very professional, excellent bed side manner. I have recommended him to several friends. He takes time to find out your issues.

As my husband caregiver this Middle eastern doctor, tried to intimidate me when I spoke about clarifying his med list because of the PTSD meds my husband is on. THIS DOCTOR then asked my husband if the PTSD was war related and my husband repsonded yes then he said OH.. hum sorry for that..THEN asked me after I spoke about the med list asked me.. DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING ELSE TO SAY? Like I had NO RIGHT AS Women to be speaking! Let alone my husbands caregiver! because of his head injury he recieved in the military! THEN on the paper they gave us when we checked out! ALL OF MY HUSBANDS MEDS WERE WRONG! AFTER I ASKED THIS DOCTOR TO MAKE SURE OF THE LIST BECAUSE MY HUSBAND IS ALLERGIC TO CONDINE! I called B and G and complained and let them know everything that happend... They scheduled my husband with another doctor and assured us that the CEO would be contacting us... This Middle eastern doctor did not want me opening my mouth at all weither it was because of his religion or whatever reason… but being a nurse myself and my husbands caregiver i offended him and he tried to put me in a place he thought I belonged AND PUTTING INCORRECT medications on my husbands chart that did not match the med list we gave him is beyond! Incompetant! WATCH THIS DOCTOR VETERANS! or anyone else!

While being treated for a stroke at OPMC, I was simultaneously experiencing an ulcerative colitis flare up. Dr. Butt was treating me for the flare. Upon release from the hospital I attended a follow up visit with Dr. Butt at his office. There I found out that is never knew the reason I was hospitalized for a stroke, not the UC flare. He never read my chart. He then knew the reason for my hospital stay. He then scheduled me for a colonoscopy. I prepped for the colonoscopy the day before and drove to the surgery center. The anesthesiologist said, you can not be put to sleep this soon after a stroke, there is a chance you will have another stroke . Dr. Butt should have called my neurologist or should have known not to schedule the colonoscopy so soon. They sent me home with no colonoscopy. DR BUTT is dangerous.

I cannot stand Dr. Butt and he completely tainted my view of Borland-Groover. He talks about other patients during the exam saying how crazy they are and how difficult. If he talks with other patients with me, who is he talking about me to? He kept saying there was nothing wrong with me even though my symptoms kept getting worse and worse. He equated it with simple IBS and kept giving me OTC medications to try like peppermint oil which worsened my acid reflux or antispasmodics which didn't help. I have had IBS since I was 23 and knew what I was experiencing was quite different. He finally agreed to do tests at my persistence that something was wrong. The last one came back negative as did the others, but, the day I got the results of the CT scan, I was forced to go to the emergency room due to severe pain in my right lower back. I thought I had a kidney stone. It turned out that the pain I had been experiencing for months and months was an ovarian cyst that ruptured the day I… went to the ER. It was so large that my surgeon had to remove it because it was baseball-sized! I requested all of my scans on CD and discovered, one year later, that the cyst was on the CT scan that the radiologist declared NEGATIVE! What I don't understand is that he remarked about small cysts in my kidneys but not the huge cyst on the left side of the screen! I don't know the radiologist's name but I was so angry! I could have gotten help sooner but no one told me about it until I had gone under the excruciating pain! I do not recommend Dr. Butt at all. I've told family and friends to be very cautious about doctors at BG and to get a scan elsewhere since I had the CT scan done at their Southside location. I once heard him chastise a patient next door to my exam room and he later told me during my exam that she had end-stage cancer! How he could do something like that is beyond me! I sent a letter to the president or CEO and NEVER heard anything back. He should not be practicing medicine if he doesn't have compassion for his patients...
