Dr. Murad Alam, MD

Absolutely horrible experience on multiple occasions. He has absolutely no respect for patient's time and his office is terrible with communication. I had two appointments and waited over an hour both times. The second time I left because they couldnt tell me when I'd be seen. DO NOT RECOMMEND. I cannot say that enough - if you want a medical professional who treats you with respect, it is NOT Dr. Alam. Plenty of other great dermatologists in Chicago.

This doctor is the most arrogant and disrespectful practitioner in Chicago. He has no regard for people’s time and is pathologically late and not the least bit apologetic about it. He leaves patients waiting for a minimum of an hour, I have never been seen on time. Ever.

The staff that works with Dr. Alam is fantastic but he himself is awful. He is always running at least an hour behind your appointment time, he referred to me as “a child” for some reason (I’m 36,) and during a surgery he was more interested in talking about me to another staff member than actually talking TO me. I’ve given him three appointment chances, but I certainly won’t be back. Northwestern has a ton of wonderful doctors, but Alam is certainly not one of them.

Waited for three months for an appointment. First appointment: After almost 2 hrs wait I cancelled. Irresponsible and disrespectful to people’s time. . . There has to be a better way.

Dr was over 2 hours late for the appointment. Office was dirty and the staff were rude while not wearing masks.

Worth waiting for, best Dermatologist!

Long, long wait outside office. Once in the office however, he took a lot of time to evaluate me. Previous ones hadn't. He listened to me and I got just what was best for me. His nurse was invaluable too.

Beware. If you are going for a consult and end up getting a cosmetic procedure done, you will be billed additional fees. They are not upfront about charges. Dr. Alam is gentle and offers thorough explanations, except about what a visit will cost.

Dr.Alam is so Awesome with a capitol A. He is very nice and polite and very knowledgeable. He makes patients feel comfortable and at ease!!!!

I recently had to have Mohs surgery for a spot on my face. Dr. Alam explained in detail how the procedure would go. It required six rounds to get all of it. He was very patient and didn't rush the process. Throughout the process he talked to me and made sure I was doing ok. I would recommend Dr. Alam for Mohs surgery.
