Dr. Murali Macherla is a surgeon at Arizona Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgeons PLLC in Phoenix, where he specializes in lung and esophageal cancer, gastroesophageal reflux disorder (GERD), and visceral artery and abdominal aneurysms. He performs robot surgeries, as well as open and endovascular repair of aneurysms.

Dr. Murali Macherla has years of training. He served as chief resident at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center at Temple University and completed a thoracic surgery residency at the University of New Mexico. Dr. Macherla also completed an advanced cardiothoracic fellowship at the University of Chicago Hospitals and an endovascular fellowship at the Arizona Heart Institute in Phoenix.

Outside of the operating room, Dr. Macherla is an accomplished researcher who earned first place in General Surgery Resident paper competition for his study on the feasibility of ERCP in diagnosing pancreatic injury in blunt trauma. He has also delivered presentations at the Society of Thoracic Surgeons Meeting, the Southeastern Surgical Conference, and the Western Regional Trauma Conference. Supplementing his professional pursuits, he is an active member at various committees at Banner Boswell and Del E webb hospitals.
