Dr. Murray Baxter Craven III, MD

Dr. C. Is fantastic. He’s smart, witty and has a great bedside manner. His nurse Andrea, is spectacular at her job! She is super friendly and professional. She also has an excellent bedside manner. Together these two make a wonderful team, and each time I’ve seen them the experience has always been pleasant.

My husband "hates" doctors. Before Dr. Craven, he would simply refuse to go, which worried me terribly. Since he began going to Dr. Craven, he goes! He doesn't cancel or "forget." He tells me that Dr. Craven listens to him, that he doesn't "yell" at him, that he's funny. But he's careful and thorough, too. When means I can relax more. (My husband is also not a man who writes reviews, which is why I'm here.)

The worst ever nurse to ever bark your name out. Goes through the motions of measuring AD blood pressure without caring or even understanding, barks out the 120 by 80 result even if that's not your normal pressure. Ask the doc to re-check it if it sounds wrong. She's the rudest, ugliest creature that also barks. Disregard it, and the doc's fine.

Dr Craven likes to solve problems, not just address symptoms. This is why he earns five stars. He has a quick and extraordinarily intelligent mind which is obvious and demonstrated by his knowledge of other medical specialties. He reads broadly and deeply inside and outside of the specialty of Internal Medicine and is capable of applying his knowledge base to diagnose seemingly disparate symptoms. He is a detail person as well as a people person. Despite his brilliance, he is very down to earth enjoying his patient conversations and the challenges of diagnosing and helping. You will have to wait for him as he tends to run late. This is because he will spend all of the time your particular problem needs, with you, clocks and schedules be darned. He is well worth the wait. His usual "Nurse" (she is NOT an RN or a LPN) is a un-empathetic bully of a person who is utterly unaware of patient issues, such as cognitive or mobility deficits. Dr Craven deserves better. His patient's… deserve better. The front desk staff are O.K., I've seen better and I've seen worse. They seem to have improved over the past year or so. They could use some training in interpersonal skills and patience. I've observed older and handicapped people being treated with disrespect. You get what you pay for, the CHS system goes "cheap" with their support staff. It shows.

As a Person Outstanding, As a Doctor He needs to go back to School and Learn a Person is a human with problems and feelings. If you are into Herbs you will find the best. But if you needs Meds. Forget about it. When you need to be referred to a Specialist you ill need to find the Doctor and tell him and then wait. And when He tells you that he wants you on certain meds, He will let you know and never follow up. He is a very good liar. My Specialist ""I"" found told me that He had NO Business being a Doctor and to get out of there !!!! Or I would Die... His Nurse is the Rudest Person you will ever meet and Cuss you like a Sailor if things do not go HER way. Carolina Medical Needs to look further into him and Help the Patient's he has done wrong and take actions. If you are smart, Do your Homework before of THINKING of seeing him.

He will not order your blood work ahead of time for an annual exam so that you can discuss it at the time of the exam. Instead he requires you to schedule a separate visit (often not covered by insurance as preventative care). He won't even call you on the phone to discuss the results. His assistant says "he's not that kind of doctor!"

Dr. Craven tries to find the cause of your illness and just doesn't prescribe meds to cover up the problem. He is one of the best internist I have seen in my 56 years. He REALLY cares and wants to heal you, not just comfort you. I recommend him highly to someone who needs attention and good care.
