I'd like to add to all the one-star reviews which Joiner is lucky to have. This doctor needs to learn manors and how to keep a schedule. People need pain management just to get through an appointment with him. He keeps elderly people who are in pain waiting for over three hours. Why don't you book patients that you can actually serve? And when you give injections, how about not leaving patients face down on a table for over an hour waiting for you to grace their presence with your needle? And lastly, perhaps you shouldn't defend your poor scheduling with comments like, "You're not my only patient; others are much worse off than you." I'm completely appalled and disgusted. Definitely time for us to find a new doctor -- one who takes their Oath seriously.

I have brought clients here and they like him. But the wait to see him due to multiple bookings at the same time is ridiculous! He has a nice bedside manner but waiting at least 2 hours every time to see him is horrible! Don’t overbook it’s double book! And certainly not during the COVID pandemic, making people wait outside in their cars and/or sitting outside when you have a large enough waiting room to have people sit inside 6feet apart is unconscionable! A lot of the patients he sees are elderly and making them wait in their cars and have to walk up a long ramp after their pager goes off is so stupid! He may be a great doctor but double And triple booking for the same time and making patients sit outside in the heat is the worst! If I could give negative stars I would! HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANOTHER PROVIDER! NOT HIM!!!

He’s the best at what he does, he will do his very best at trying to get you out of Pain. I love him , He’s great! People come from all over just to see him so might be a little wait time , but he’s worth it

I was released from this dr for being unable to find someone to take me to an appt 200 miles from my home. I moved to VA 18 months ago & we're in the middle of a pandemic. They refused to see me until I could find another dr & only gave me 2 weeks worth of meds. I have several serious back & neck conditions that cause chronic pain. It's seems they only care about money, not patient care. Avoid them if you have other options. Jonathan Shelton, who I saw in Abingdon VA, was awesome, (although he worked under Dr Joiner), however.

I have been seeing Dr. Joiner and his associates for approximately eight years for a multitude of medical issues that have plegued me over the years. If not for the knowledge, persistence, compassion and genuine concern from Dr. Joiner and his entire staff, I would have gave up a long time ago. These wonderful medical professionals literally gave me back my life. When you live in constant pain you do not live, you just exist. Through all these years not one minute did they ever give up on me. They did not leave one stone unturned looking for medications, old and new procedures and physical therapy that would improve my quality of life. Sometimes you may have to wait a while. Just be patient and remember that you may need the extra attention one day like the people you are waiting on. I can promise you that the quality of care, medical professionalism and genuine care for your total well-being can not be matched anywhere else. Dr. Joiner and his team of medical professionals… are by far the best!

I've been seeing Dr. Joiner and his staff for several years for chronic back and neck pain and I have been extremely pleased. Dr. Joiner has outstanding bedside manners and shows sympathy and concern for my pain. His staff are equally outstanding. I've seen two of the PAs over time and both have been incredible. The current PA I see for routine followup is Taryn Wilson, is competent, caring and thorough. I read complaints from some patients about having to wait long times, but my experience has been that is usually the result of a patient coming in under emergent situations. Having been there myself a time or two, I try to be understanding.

Second scheduled appointment just like the first walked out 1st vist arrived with the required driver 15mins before appointment waited about 45mins before going back to exam room where I was left for about an hour waiting while the staff laughed and cutup without checking on me or advising me as to what was taking so long when I finally asked I was told it would be another hour. So I walked out they encouraged me to reschedule so I did they called friday to say they needed to move my appointment from 2.45 to 12.30 so once again my wife takes off from work we arrive to find that they are running 2 hours behind. We left I will never r dx commend this practice to anyone evidently the practice aint helping.

I was in chronic pain , Dr. Joiner is awesome. The best doctor I have ever seen. My pain is so much better after going to him. He’s got the best knowledge of how to help people. He is well worth the wait to see. Great bedside manner too.

Today was my first visit with doctor Joiner . I waited 3 hours , I felt as if he was seeing his regular patients before me . I can't say that him or his staff was rude because they wasn't really just dealing with their daily routine. I never got a one on one with him . I took the 3 hour wait time personal like he didn't really want me there since he was seeing other patients that appointments was after mine ahead of me when my appointment was first . He set up a couple more appointments that I will go to in hopes that he can help me with my sever leg nerve pain .. I will give him the benefit of a doubt ..

Took time to figure out the best treatment for me. Great bedside manor. I little bit of a wait is well worth the care you get from him and his staff.
