Summary

I joined the staff of Fox Chase Cancer Center in 2001 not only because it is one of the top cancer centers in the country, but also because of the unique environment we are provided as anesthesiologists. Our staff works closely with the surgical oncologists and nursing staff to ensure patient safety and comfort before, during and after surgery. However, our role is not limited to just providing pain relief during surgery. Anesthesiologists are sometimes considered "perioperative physicians," meaning we provide medical care to our patients throughout the surgical experience. At Fox Chase, we provide medical evaluations prior to surgery, consult with the surgical team and provide pain control and support of life functions during surgery. Finally, we manage our patients' care following surgery and are responsible for discharging our patients from recovery. I understand that most cancer patients deal with pain management issues throughout treatment, so it is very important that we understand their needs in order to provide them with the most comfort. I believe that proper assessment of a patient's pain and measurement of quality of life are crucial to appreciating the efficacy of a treatment regimen. At Fox Chase, we are conducting research studies for anesthesia in cancer patients. The results are factored into treatment plans to improve quality of life at various stages of the disease.

Ensuring Data Transparency and Trust: A Guide to Vitals Doctor Listings and Reviews

Our provider data is gathered directly from physicians and publicly available databases. Providers who verify their profiles gain the ability to update information, offering additional details about their specialties, education, treated conditions, performed procedures, and accepted insurances.

Reviews on Vitals are submitted by users only. Recognizing the valuable insights these reviews offer into a doctor's reputation, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Importantly, providers cannot delete or alter reviews independently. Reviews can only be deleted or changed following an internal assessment by our customer service team.

Your feedback is highly valued and we encourage you to contact our support team should you encounter any issues.
