Dr. Murugesen Dhandapani, MD

I was recently admitted to Tenova Lafollette Medical Center for three days, and I had the misfortune of being treated by Dr. Murugesen Dhandapani (Dr. Dhan). My initial consultation with him was unsettling as he spent a considerable amount of time attempting to persuade me to leave my current doctor, which I found highly unprofessional. Throughout my stay, Dr. Dhan’s interactions were brief and dismissive. His responses were curt, and he seemed more interested in leaving the room than addressing my concerns. Although there was a slight improvement in his demeanor during our second meeting, the encounter was still rushed. To my surprise, I discovered upon discharge that Dr. Dhan had prescribed medication without informing me, leaving a nurse to communicate this significant change. Moreover, he failed to call in the prescription for insulin and the necessary syringes, contrary to what he claimed. This oversight caused me undue stress as I scrambled to obtain my medication. The… nursing staff, who were left to rectify the situation, confirmed that Dr. Dhan was unavailable to assist further due to the end of his shift. This lack of responsibility and poor bedside manner is unacceptable. Short answers and a reluctance to clarify treatment plans do not constitute adequate patient care. Based on my experience and corroborating reviews, I cannot recommend Dr. Dhan. His approach to patient care needs substantial improvement.

My personal experience was great with this business. I did not have to wait long to see the Doctor and have also seen the Nurse Practitioner. They are very nice and professional!

My grandfather has been using Dr Dhan for a number of years. Over the past several years, his health has been declining. Dr. Dhan's communication has been horrendous. Multiple copies of the same form has been delivered to his staff as well as him to be completed, yet it has never been done. My grandfather is a US Army Veteran who deserves attentive, complete care from a physician. Dr Dhan has NOT provided this, nor can he fill out and sign a simple form. He is also virtually unreachable. He spends exorbitant amounts of time out of the country and his loyalty does not lie with his patients. Please think twice before trusting your or your family member's wellbeing to this man.
