Dr. Mustafa Iltimas Ahmed, MD

I think Dr. ahmed is a wonderful and a great surgeon. I talked to another patient who said that is why her husband died. After the surgery the Dr has very little to do with the patient it is his staff is the who takes care of the patient. With his symptoms they should have sent him right to the emergency room. He was a sick man and only had a couple of years to live but if they had done that he would not have died in his arms.

Dr. Ahmed is a very talented physician all around. He treats each patient as an individual and looks to each aspect of care. He is thorough and respectful to patients and their families.

Dr Ahmed not only took care of my heart but also took the time to ensure that my other health issues were seen to and taken care of by identifying what the problem really was and referring me to the right specialist rather than just saying it wasn’t my heart. I did not feel rushed and had all questions answered. He has a very nice demeanor and is very knowledgeable.

Visited then a follow up telehealth review. My complex cardiological background CABPG at young age and angioplasties, advanced CAD there was such a big storm in my 'head' but this charming young specialist structural and Interventional cardiologist, quickly grasped on my problems allowed loads of time and put my mind at total ease and funny thing is I came with a list but never had to refer to I understood that everything can be fixed and I won't be dying anytime soon, all I have to say what an asset for UAB to have and a big thank you..

Visited with me on the phone and video, spent a lot of time answering our questions about valve surgery in this difficult time. Very reassured, we are planning to delay our procedures a few weeks because of all the madness going on.
