Dr. Mustufa T Saifee, MD

Dr Saifee's staff are very professional (no, that is not a typo. They are great when you talk to them) and impossible to reach. They say they will send medical documentation but NEVER follow through. They worry about little costs like the co-pay, but Dr Saifee will order a test that costs you $1,600 without batting an eye or bothering to tell you about the costs involved. Meeting with Dr Saifee is about as enjoyable as meeting with the principal of your old school. Stiff, formal, and incredibly brief. Talking down is a common thing, and when I asked about the tests he had me take he spoke with authority but knew little about it. It wasn't until I got a second opinion that I found out that those $1,600 were just screening tests. In short, I could have gone to my local dentist who specializes in is sleep disorders and spend $1,600 less. Dr Saifee is not a doctor I would recommend nor would I ever be willing to go back again. Expect his office to take forever on any and all requests and… expect to have to call back multiple times before the request is addressed.

Dr. Saifee is an outstanding pulmonologist....helping his patients to understand how their respiratory issues interact with other medical issues. He is extremely thorough and very knowledgeable and kindly.

Dr Saifee is the best doctor I've ever seen. He knows what he's talking about and explains everything completely. He's prompt and pleasant.

I was told that the sleep study would be covered by my insurance. This was a lie. I don't have the money to pay for this and the don't care. They just want their money. I also question the diagnosis.

Dr. Saifee was quick to start searching for a diagnosis for me with complex medical problems. I was very impressed with his intelligence & drive to find answers. I had many tests run inpatient, but he was "too busy" to come discuss the results with me, even though he had been the admitting physician. I left the hospital with many questions & no follow through. Two weeks after going home, I had a very scary near death experience requiring an ambulance & hospitalization. When I saw Saifee following this experience, he reviewed the tests run during the hospital stay & promptly diagnosed me with Narcolepsy!! If he hadn't been "too busy " to come review tests & discharge me properly, I wouldn't have nearly died. His diagnosis was accurate & helpful, but I found a new doctor who would MAKE time to see me.

Brilliant professional and a great communicator; thorough and caring.

In my ten year experience with interstitial lung disease, I've had at least four pulmonologists. Dr. Saifee, the fifth, has been the most concerned, thorough and accurate. He doesn't hesitate to comb through old records for clues as to what can be done next. He has spent much time with me, even meeting at one time at the end of the day, just me, his PA and himself. He does not give up until there is an answer even if no complete solution is possible. Kind, generous and caring would be my description of both him and his P.A., Jacqueline.
