Dr. Myeong Won Kang, MD

After four back operations and 12 years using Oxycodone 10-325 three times a day for my chronic pain, Dr. Kang advised—the day I was supposed to pick up my monthly prescription—that he would no longer prescribe my pain medication (Support staff had advised me the prior evening that my prescription would be ready for pickup the next day). I was told that the reason Dr. Kang decided to discontinue filling my pain medication was because I had been in an auto accident the previous month (I was a passenger) and lawyers were involved. Apparently, he didn’t want to be bothered with any resulting paperwork. In making his decision, Dr. Kang didn’t appear to consider my resulting pain or that it can be very dangerous or deadly for a patient to discontinue taking Oxycodone “cold turkey”. Moreover, Dr. Kang was very condescending and arrogant towards my wife (misogynistic traits that I see are mentioned by other reviewers). There must be a degree of trust between patient and doctor,… particularly when opioids are involved. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. P.S. After this review was originally posted, I received a call from a pain management center in Ocala advising that Dr. Kang had forwarded my medical records along with a referral. This was done without my prior knowledge or specific consent.

Dr. Kang diagnosed a condition that 3 other doctors missed. I've never felt rushed during a visit and have a friendly & professional relationship with him. He concentrates on healing both the body & mind to promote your well being.

Dr. Kang has been our doctor since 1993. He listens to what you have to say and is an excellent diagnostic doctor. He remembers your history when you return for the next appointment. The wait time is minimal but he never rushes his visit with his patient. He is very caring but tells you the way it is, whether or not you want to hear the truth.

RUDE! Very Rude!! If he doesn't want to hear what you have to say he will put his hand up to you, to tell you to stop talking. Never been to such a rude doctor in my life!

I was a pt, for several years. I am a retired critical care nurse and tolerant of poor bedside manner and egotism as long as I know the physician is competent. My chart was left in the room and I began to review it. I was shock to so see that he was entering diagnosis to my insurance company that were false. He was billing for 2 diagnosis that I do not have or have ever had. He refuses to re-bill my insurance to clear these off my record, thus they will follow me all my life. My husband continued to see him until he too was told by a dr. that Dr. Kang had referred him too, that Dr. Kang also had written diagnosis that was false. Needless to say, we are now under the care of a physician who listens to complaints, follows up appropriately. Does head to toe exam with each visit and does not talk only about himself, dismiss our concerns or want to talk about his family or friends. Neither of us would ever recommend Dr. Kang.
