Dr. Myra Stafford

Myra Montgomery Stafford, D.M.D.
I'd like to share a little about myself; including my family, education, and just a bit of history.  I am Dr. Myra Stafford, a native of Jasper.  My family includes my wonderful husband, Earl, and our two children, Trey and Audrey Beth.  Trey is a student at the University of Alabama (his dad's alma mater) and Audrey Beth follows the family tradition of being the fourth (and last) in our family to attend Walker High School.  My mom and best friend, Audrey Montgomery, lives just down the road from us. Mom is retired from the Jasper City School system where she worked for many years as the secretary at West Jasper School.  My dad, Lathen Montgomery, passed away in 2005, but still shines brightly in our memories.  Dad retired, a UMWA miner from Bessie Mines.  Mom and Dad were married for 55 years.  My sister, Janet Ayers, also lives in Jasper.  She is retired from teaching at Maddox Middle School and is now the owner of GiGi's Consignment Shop. … My nephew, Chris Ayers, is currently advancing his education and stays as busy as ever.      
After graduating from Walker High School and attending Walker College, I graduated from David Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN.  Four years later I received my D.M.D. degree from The University of Alabama School of Dentistry.  My post graduate studies include extensive training at the Dawson Center of Dental Studies in St. Petersburg, FL among numerous continuing education courses.
I returned home to Jasper to begin my practice of dentistry on August 9, 1982 in the original office at the Masonic Building in downtown Jasper.  Four years later I relocated to the cottage office at 803 Airport Road South.  Twenty 'fast' years later I moved for the second and final time to the new office located at 300 North Airport Road.  I absolutely love all the space... and the picture windows... and the bright 'beachy' colors... Can't wait for you to visit!    
I am a member of the American Dental Association, the Alabama Dental Association and the Sixth District Dental Society.  I have been the president of the Jasper Dental Society since 1982.  My family are members at Woodland Trace Church of Christ.
