Dr. Mysore Rangappa Nagaraja, MD

To anyone considering this doctor for gastroenterology, I STRONGLY advise you to look elsewhere. The doctor himself was unfriendly and impolite in my phone screening with him. His office staff is extremely rude and incompetent. I had to call them no less than 5 times to ensure that their requests for my pre-op lab work was received. When I finally got the pre-op lab work done, I went to the hospital and got the COVID test. The hospital gave me a handout saying that taxis and Ubers are not permitted as rides home. When I spoke to his staff, they kept imploring me to contact a friend or family (to pick me up at 7AM in Northridge!), which I told them is not an option. They said it is a hospital policy. When I called the hospital, they said it is up to the doctor's discretion. I felt very disrespected every time I spoke to his office and would not trust the doctor with my life or stomach because of this incompetence. After months of trying to get this endoscopy I cancelled it. Stay away!

Worst customer service in LA, not adequate workers, I have waited almost two years for meeting and as a result of rudeness of workers I cancel that appointment so don’t waste your time and money

He wont explain u fees and costs of procedures and you will end up in collections

I have been going to DR. Nagaraja for over 30 years & he has performed many procedures on me. I have the highest regard for him & his office staff

Dr. Nagaraja and his support staff seem not caring enough to win over my confidence. His assistant, who provided intake for my endoscopy procedure seemed distracted -- she misread the details I provided (very neat printing) in my intake form when spoken to verify my input. I had to correct her 3 times, once where she stated my age incorrectly, and 2 other instances. I had neatly printed my DOB in the correct place on the form. She seemed nervous and lacking experience. Dr. Nagaraja himself was 1 hour late for my appointment, no apology given. His assessment of me took less than 2 minutes (tops) with his attention focused on anything but me as a patient. I thought to myself later on that he probably visualizes me as income and not a human patient. His bedside manner to inspire my confidence in his abilities I will rate as zero.

Dr. Mysore is exceptional. However, although very sweet, his office staff are slow to non-responsive. If I had cancer, I would die before something would have follow through. I don’t know if Doctor is even aware. His practice suffers I imagine because of this. He needs mature aggressive front office staff.

Continual contradictions. First procedure went fine. Was told second procedure necessary. Went on vacation and had to wait. After return from vacation tried to get scheduled. Was accused of telling the Dr: “are you trying to tell me how to Dr”...didn’t seem lucid. My sister was by my side & agreed, do not let him touch you. Plus calling into his office was a nightmare. Confusion regarding my care. To add insult to injury, he never followed up while I was in severe pain. After returning from his vacation, I called 2 consecutive days stating I needed an emergency room. He never bothered checking on me until the 3 rd day. He lied to me as well. Told me he didn’t have hospital privileges at St Joe’s. Not true, was told by Dr at St Joe’s he just didn’t like their equptment for the procedure I needed. This all adds up to distrust!

If you want a doctor that barely talks to you and doesn't take the time to ask you anything about your symptoms and history then this is your guy.

I was recommended to this Dr. by my GP Dr. Kuraishi. I have been going to Dr. Nagaraja for at least 10 years for colonoscopys. He will answer any questions you have and is very thorough if you have any questions. His office staff is very friendly.
