Dr. Nabil Altememi, MD

I had three EMG’s prior to carpal tunnel surgery. Dr. Altememi was by far the most thorough. He explained what he was doing step-by-step as he went along. I highly recommend this doctor.

Dr is arrogant and doesnt listen. Staff is difficult to work with and argumentative. Don't go here. Had to wait too long for appointment

Doesn't listen. Arrogant. Staff suffers from the same arrogance, language barriers. Feels like a money machine for expensive devices. I have multipe conditions which affect my sleep. Dr paid no attention.

Dr. Altememi is a fabulous doctor. I saw two others before and Altememi is the best by far. EMG: no problem; other issues: great management.

I'm not sure why a couple of other patients have said he doesn't listen. This has not been my case at all. I usually have many questions/concerns (I do public health research for a living) and he always addresses them clearly and comprehensively. During my first appointment, he explained the limitations of my insurance (dratted Cigna) and assured me there were alternatives that would ultimately get me to the therapy I need. He was spot on and the alternative pathway is working (albeit, slightly slower, but this isn't his fault). I've had nothing but good experiences with him, his office, and the sleep lab staff.

I almost died while under his care. He's good at talking. Not so good at listening.

An EMG is a painful enough experience, but this doc doesn't even listen! He just plows forward. Not recommended!

I'm very thankful to my husband's sleep doctor who treated the severe sleep apnea and helped my husband to sleep without any breathing problems continuously for the whole night for the first time after years of suffering. Dr. Altememi personally and friendly received us in Bethesda office and ordered a sleep study and analyzed the sleep pattern of my husband. This doctor is friendly and knowledgeable and spent a lot of time with my husband to discuss the case. I recommended him to my friend who needed a good sleep doctor.

Dr. Altememi is by so far the best neurologist I've seen. I have lots of complicated neurological disorders and I'm very picky and frankly difficult when it comes to my choice of physicians. But Dr. Altememi clearly has extensive medical knowledge and good communication skills. He also has great bed side manners and truly cares and advocates for his patients. I really like his thoroughness and his meticulous evaluations and recommendations. I'm definitely gonna always be his patient.

I'm not sure about the previous reviewers but I'm happy with Dr. Nabil Altememi. I've seen 2 previous doctors that I was not happy with or comfortable with until him. He listens to me and he repeats back everything we talked about. He makes sure that I have what I need for my migraines and even asks me to make sure I talk to my primary physician about certain medications. My migraines have got way better since seeing him and now I get them once a month compared to before. I think everyone needs to just keep trying to find someone they feel comfortable with and don't settle for just any doctor. It's important to find someone you trust and someone who can understand your needs.
