I have never been to a less professional doctor's office, from their appearance to their behavior. The entire staff, including the doctor, wears dingy white coats that are screaming to be washed. On the day I met the doctor, she had greasy hair and armpit odor! I tried to overlook everything and not let it affect my opinion of this practice. However, when I needed prior authorization for a medicine she prescribed, one that I had been on for 14 years, they were of absolutely no help, nor was the doctor even concerned! I've never had a problem getting this medicine; my prior authorization just happened to be due at the time I started seeing this doctor. When Dr. Babar's office faxed the P.A. form, it was denied by the insurance company because the doctor's office "didn't fill out the form correctly" (< that coming from my insurance company). The doctor's office refused to call the insurance company to get it straightened out, and the doctor refused to prescribe anything in its place. I… have very serious health problems and cannot do without this medicine. I called the insurance company crying because the doctor's office wouldn't do anything about it. The insurance company asked that I ask the doctor's office to call them so that they could help them fill out the form. The doctor's office refused, saying "they don't have time to do things like that" (meaning make phone calls), and that it was an office policy. I spent a total of three full days trying to get this straightened out, to no avail. I had to go to the emergency room to get a replacement medicine, but was only given four days' worth. The doctor's office called me and told me that if I call or ask about this issue again, I would be dismissed from the practice. I called the insurance company (for probably the ninth time) and they said they'd call the doc's office and try to get it straightened out. The insurance company called me back to say that the doctor's office refuses to fill the form out, that they've noted their records about this doctor's behavior, and even that they spoke with the doctor herself, who told them that if they called her one more time about this, she'll dismiss me from their practice! The insurance rep commented that it took longer for the doctor to get on the phone than it would for her to just fill out the form. They were as appalled as I was at the unprofessionalism and lack of concern for her patient shown by this doctor. They urged me to find a new primary care doctor. I plan to file a complaint with the State Medical Board about this.
