Dr. Nadeem Anwar Khan, MD

ZERO stars- After being a patient of Dr Khans for nearly a decade, I began to have issues with his NP Svetlana Barrett. I complained many times to Dr. khan about this and he kept encouraging me to just deal with her and ask him to pop into my appts. “Lana” was not accurately documenting everything being discussed in our appointments. The procedures (approximately9 spinal injections and 2 RFAs, and a spinal cord stimulator) were not working, and we had reached a point of turning to medication management. Yet this was not documented ANYWHERE in my notes. I called and left multiple messages asking for my notes to be updated to accurately reflect what was discussed in those appointments. I was ignored. I was even prescribed a narcotic medication that also wasn’t documented in my visit summary. I finally made another appointment and informed Lana that I would be recording the appt since the notes weren’t accurate. She threw a fit, walked out, Dr khan completely flipped on me after being a… loyal patient for YEARS. He immediately discharged me as a patient due to my attempt to use voice recording. Then, in the note/summary from that visit, they FABRICATED my notes saying I was observed doing things that never happened, that I was upset because they wouldn’t say I can’t work (not true, but as I was pursuing disability, it was extremely important for my notes to accurately reflect my experience). I had a witness there and I still have the recording as proof. Because it’s a private practice they can lie and turn on you at any moment. The practice manager even told me, also on the recording with her consent, that they can write anything they want in the notes and there’s nothing I can do to change it. In the ruling from the judge on my ssdi case, they specifically quoted the visit summary from this practice, which again was a complete lie, leading to my denial. On top of that, before that last note, my visit summaries hadn’t been updated for months, still had old outdated information about my daily and professional activities. Dr. Khan and Svetlana ruined my medical reputation as a patient, my chance for ssdi, my chances at receiving the support I need and deserve. The receptionist at the next provider I saw made a comment about how they had a lot of people transferring care away from this practice. If you choose to go here, read EVERY note. Document everything! And protect YOURSELF. It should be illegal for providers to abuse their power like this and ruin their patients’ lives. I was devastated, I had a great relationship with Dr khan and then this turned into the worst medical experience of my life.

First of all, I have gone to Dr. Khan for years. He used to be very kind and efficient. Over the years, he has had a complete turnover in staff- and not for the better I must add. I have done countless procedures, only to end up right where I was when I began coming to him in the beginning, unfortunately. I am a service connected disabled Veteran, and Dr. Khan has an NP there (Lana Barrett), who was supposed to be treating me for this condition. At my last appointment, she discontinued my medication and said that she would not be refilling it- with no explanation. A nurse practitioner. And this medication is NOT A CONTROLLED medication!. I brought my concerns to Dr. Khan who did not even respond to me! The office manager called me and said that she would rectify the issue- and there still has been no response. Completely unacceptable. He also has a PA there who is very rude and condescending. Please stay far away from this place.

To be clear, after 4 fusions, 3 nerve ablations, multiple injections and even an electric stimulator, I needed a new pain management doctor after my wonderful dr moved out of state. Needed a practice to manage the regulatory requirements for (one) narcotic prescription. This practice does not provide narcotic Rx service, so you know if you are searching too. They are upfront about it so didn't waste my time and I appreciated that.

I was in really bad shape when I was referred to Dr Kahn. I'd been with another pain specialist who was cruel, offensive and really a mean spirit. I'd had a very bad car accident, broke my neck and completely screwed up my entire body. He is the BEST doctor. He is always kind and patient and he listens. He knows his patients. I can't imagine any other Dr for me. He's the very best! And his staff is wonderful! They greet me by name, they are thoughtful and they have never made me feel rushed. They always smile. Over the last almost 2 years they have all become family. Through the toughest procedures and blocks I have never been afraid. I KNOW I'm getting the BEST care. My other "Dr" made me afraid of him. If I said I wasn't getting pain control he would threaten to not give me any pain medicine...cruel . He was cruel. I was barely standing up when I first saw Dr Kahn. I was there 3 hours and he gave me medication to break my pain. I also changed pain med managers… and that's working out very well. The best thing I ever did was begin seeing Dr Kahn. I was a nurse for 30 years and he is the best of the very best! I love this practice!

I would recommend him to any and everyone I know.... They are they best..

Extremely compassionate, intelligent doctor who pulls out all stops to get to the problem and help you manage pain. Professional at all times and has great bedside manners.
