Dr. Nageswara Rao Guntupalli, MD

If I were you I would steer clear. This doctor does not listen he takes days to call you back when your trying to get ahold of him. He does the bare minimum but charges the absolute maximum. He doesn’t really give any refills on most meds or even discuss meds quickly over the phone to help you out because he wants to charge you for an office visit fee every time there’s an issue with a med or emergency. Which for me is around $150! With covid its even worse good luck getting help from him or a phone call back for at least a week. The lady at the front desk sure doesn’t help that matter. His recommendations on medicine were not impressive to say the least anything he offered I didn’t need because he was recommending dangerous meds that had terrible ratings and side effects. There were even some major contradictions between the meds and he tried giving to me saying that they we’re fine to take together that had major contradictions. Came in for depression and anxiety I’m leaving with… huge bills, and I’m no better off than we’re I started. Will tell people to steer clear and spread the word.

Dr. Guntupalli is only a challenge to me because of his accent. He seems methodical, precise, well educated, & professional. He does his best for his patients (I am judging here from two of my friends who go to him also). He is not your "generic doctor". I was hesitant at first to try a new psychiatrist, but he has been worth it.

Super patient, super polite, and really listens. Definitely engaged with his patients.

Excellent doctor with good manners

They don't do on-line appointment through vitals.com. The front office lady said she does not know why it showed that they make an on-line appointment. I showed up today after making the arrangement/appointment through the website and was told my name is not there. I was given an appointment in 6 weeks as a first timer ð???

Dr. Guntapali completely brushed of anything that was being said to a patient and continued to discuss prescription. He also doesn't offer condolences for loss of a family member. Very disappointed. I wish my family member would consider another Dr.

This guy does not beat around the bush and knows how to do his work.

I've seen a few psychiatrists over the years due to relocation and a variety of other factors such as insurance changes, etc. and I've always come back to Dr. Guntupalli. What I like best about him and what I think makes him a great physician is the fact that he is always concerned about your overall health, never prescribes more medication than is needed, and always takes his time to explain his treatment plan and answer any questions you may have. Sure you can go to other psychiatrists that will give you more of certain medications if you really want (we all know they are out there), but I've always come back to Dr. Guntupalli because I know he has my best interest at hand and wants to see the medications used for the right purpose. He personally reminds me of a genius mathematician the way he looks at a list of medications and is able to quickly dissect what is right is what could be better. The man knows his stuff, is always straightforward, and has never been anything but kind… and professional. I should also point out that he is affordable and flexible for someone without insurance, and his front office receptionist (who I have seen there for years) is very helpful. These may seem like little things, but we all know they make a big difference in this area of healthcare where the roadblocks and stigma can often be high dealing with the support staff of psychiatrists. I highly recommend Dr. Guntupalli and feel the community is blessed to have such a great doctor.

What I have consistently noticed is that Dr. Guntupalli is always flexible about nnn-appointment visits, he doesn't over-prescribe drugs like most Doctors do, he rather provides medication doses for their purpose, not higher doses so the patient "feels something drastic." He also works with me financially because I don't have health insurance or much money, he does so by prescribing older yet as effective medications so that I can purchase the near-expensive equivalent in generic form, this has been a blessing to me, I could otherwise not afford medication at all. This Doctor does not "jump on the bandwagon", he really cares. I once left without paying for my visit (Which is only $75 USD), nonetheless upon my next visit I mentioned that to him, and his awareness of my financial stability impelled a kind decision of forgiving my debt from that unpaid visit so that I wouldn't owe 2(75) = ($150 USD) on my next visit. This shows that he cares about his patients, just as well as the way he… prescribes medications lightly unless necessary high doses are required.

I have been seeing Dr. Guntupalli for over 5 years, he really knows his stuff, I would definitely recommend him.
