Dr. Naghma Farooqi, MD

I think Dr Farooqi is an excellent OB/gyn in every aspect.

I am sitting with a $1k+ bill because UCSF coded her as a BCBS of Texas doctor and my insurance won't cover it. I have called her office dozens of times and no one will respond. This is the worst experience I have had at UCSF or any major hospital system.

Dr. Farooqi, through her office staff, called and cancelled the in person appointment we had unless I would talk to her on zoom and she would establish my case was urgent. Having no choice, I agreed to see her on zoom for the very limited scope of determining whether I had to go to the office. It took less than 3 minutes for her to tell me that she would not see me in person, because my case wasn' I never agreed to have an online examination, for all that I am concerned, her office staff could have relied the information I gave them to her and she could have decided whether I had to come in person. 't urgent. No examination, nothing. Just a simple three minute conversation. Chocking to me, Dr. Farooqi charged me $550 for a ''New Patient Appointment" - She charged me over $115 PER MINUTE in a conversation that SHE REQUESTED. How about that for creating your own demand?! In sum, she asked me to talk to her so she can determine whether she can provide me medical services. She concludes… she cannot assist me and proceed to charged me $550 for the few minutes she took in assessing whether she could help. Fair business practices? I don''t think so.

Didn't appreciate Dr. Farooqi's demeanor when she failed to anesthetize me properly and then blamed me for flinching. I would. recommend not seeing her.

She is Excellent doctor and I have immense trust on her as far as patient and doctor relation goes.She has 20+ years of experience.

Dr Farooqi delivered both my last two children and was not only a great doctor but down to earth as well.

I do not recommend her at all!

When I first met Dr. Farooqi, I left the appointment knowing we'd made a great decision in our OB. She was kind, she smiled a lot, and she really listened to what I had to say. Each appointment, she made it a point to ask me if I had any questions (all of which I'd nerdily saved in my Notes app on my phone) and she thoroughly answered each one without making me feel dumb. We had a goal of natural delivery with as little medication as we could. She was very respectful of that and was great at talking through the multiple scenarios in which medication or intervention would be necessary, as well as what we could do to hopefully prevent having to use anything. Aside from the fact that she was nice and respectful, there is one HUGE thing she did that makes me really know that she puts her patients first: My husband is in the Air Force, and was sent to San Antonio (6.5 hrs from Lubbock) for training around the time of delivery. We were under the assumption that he'd be able to… take a few days of leave to come home for the birth. When it came down to it, it was really up in the air whether he'd be able to come and make it in time, so I began to discuss this with Dr. Farooqi. She and I initially started talking about possible induction on a day we KNEW he'd be able to make it back, and then she suggested something I absolutely had not considered: she asked me if I'd thought of going to him in San Antonio and delivering there. She said that would be the only way to ensure my husband would be there. She was confident that there would be competent, possibly even very good ;), doctors there that could take care of me. By the next day, I had decided to leave Lubbock, Dr. Farooqi, our wonderful doula, Penny (at UMC), and our friends and family behind. The simple fact that she would suggest I go there while she would be left without the bigger payment for delivery really meant a lot to me. At that point, I transferred all of my care to San Antonio (@ 38 weeks). I did not fully trust the care in San Antonio. I called Dr. Farooqi's office while I was there to ask her some questions, and she happily took the time to answer. She even gave me her personal phone number should I have any more questions, because she knew how nervous I was and how I really had nobody to talk to about my care that I knew or trusted. During the delivery, I had a massive (5 in.) tear vertically up the vaginal canal, which was insanely painful. My husband's training ended within the week I gave birth, and we headed back to Lubbock. I desperately needed somebody to look at the tear to make sure it was healing correctly because I had a suspicion there were complications. I called Dr. Farooqi's office, and she was able to get me in the same day. She was at the hospital, and had me come into Triage so she could take a look. The fact that she wasn't *technically* my doctor and took my calls and still saw me after the birth shows how much this doctor goes above and beyond. It's not like I knew her before she was my OB or was a personal or family friend. This is the way she is with her patients! A great friend of mine used Farooqi for her 3rd child, and said it was the best birth she'd ever had. (I so wish I had that pleasure!) I can't tell you enough how caring and wonderful this woman is. We're now expecting #2, and live in Virginia, and I wish I could pick Dr. Farooqi up and bring her out here to us. No other doctors really compare. If you're weighing OB options, you can just quit looking. You really won't get another doctor any better than her.

Dr. Farooqi took the time to listen to my concerns and always made me feel comfortable and cared for. We had an amazing experience delivering our second child with her help. She is very caring and has a great bedside manner. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Farooqi!

I have seen Dr. Farooqi for several years now and she is WONDERFUL!! As a gynecologist, she always makes the appointments feel very relaxed and comfortable. When we got pregnant the first time and had a miscarriage, she was very helpful and encouraging. Our 2nd pregnancy was much more successful; however, we were unaware of a genetic condition that my husband and I have. Our daughter passed away a month after she was born. Dr. Farooqi was very loving, caring, professional and so supportive. She was very informed on our medical condition and worked closely with a high risk ob. On our 3rd pregnancy, Dr. Farooqi monitored VERY carefully. She always made us feel important and special. She took the time to visit with us and answer our questions while calming our fears. Now we have an AMAZING blessing from God and we're so thankful Dr. Farooqi walked with us on this journey. Her knowledge and expertise are fantastic! I highly recommend Dr. Farooqi to all my friends and family!!
