On my first visit with her, Dr. Pooya spent about 30 minutes with me, reviewing my history and making sure she understood my needs. She called me a few days later, on a Saturday, to follow up. She is always very friendly, and takes the time to listen and explain. I never feel rushed during an appointment.

Excellent doctor. I had peace of mind when she was taking care of my mother during pandemic.

Dr. Pooya took care of my mother at Pacific Coast Manor, a skilled nursing facility. During the COVID I was very worried because I couldn't visit her and also I was in Florida and not allowed to travel, but Dr. Pooya by calling keeps me updated. because of her constant communication and excellent care. Dr Pooya was very professional, diligent, knowledgeable, approachable, very kind and extremely caring, and she listens attentively to the needs of patients and staff. Dr Pooya always finds time to see patients and to listen to their concerns, and she has a calm, soothing, and reassuring manner. The nurses and patients can count on her; she is responsive and always gets back to us in a timely manner. She explains procedures to the patients and to the nurses. Dr Pooya also speaks several languages and is familiar with different cultures which facilitates understanding patient needs, even those of more reserved stoic patients. This helps staff deliver the best care.

Dr Pooya had my relative sign a POLST on admittance to her facility. My relative’s medical history indicated a previous traumatic brain injury. He was being admitted after falling a breaking his pelvis. He was transferred to her facility from a hospital and he had received pain meds. Dr. Pooya had him sign a POLST indicating DNR. My relative was in NO condition to make such a decision on admittance to the rehab facility. The request should not have been at the time of admittance considering the history of TMI and the fact that pain meds were on board.
