Requested sedation. Versed did nothing except increase my anxiety and make me more awake. I informed them and begged sobbing for something else during the procedure which was excruciating. Received nothing else. Felt every single stab through my abdomen and the lidocaine injections as well as piercing of the nerves. I broke a filling in my mouth gritting my teeth. Was horrible horrible. Took a week to feel like I wasn’t in panic mode. I may need it again so will be smart and take several pain pills before hand. I was trying to keep my chronic pain in control by requesting sedation. No one believes me because I look young. It’s horrific being female and needing care. Your expected to just deal with excruciating procedure pain. Be smart. Take drugs before. It’s like prehistoric times in medicine these days.

Absolute nightmare with this doctor. Went in for my 7th facet injection and was to be given pre-op anti-anxiety meds. My metabolism of those drugs requires me to have a higher dose for the required efficacy which is noted in my chart. Doctor ignored this and administered a very small dose, which did not achieve the desired clinical result. I felt nothing and asked if they had actually pushed the medication. She ignored the fact that I had absolutely no sedative effects and did the procedure anyway, which was the most barbaric pain I've had to endure this far in my life. Post-procedure I was in immense pain, crying and screaming at times. The doctor refused to do anything to treat my pain or even recommend going to the ER, which I did the next day. I've reported this incident to the medical board of California and have consulted with a malpractice attorney to make sure this never happens to anyone else. No one should have to go through a living nightmare like this.
