Following heart cath cardiologist recommended over night observation at HCA Brandon. Was handed off to Patel to handle process. She came around later in the evening for rounds and told me that she had admitted me as an inpatient to manage my KIDNEY FAILURE. Even after I thoroughly explained that I was there for precautionary observation only she simply ignored that slight detail and persisted with treating me for kidney failure. I was subjected to ongoing IV hydration and serial blood work throughout the night with the latter resulting in significant bruising of my arms due to the fact that I have been on blood thinners since heart surgery in 2011.The next morning around 8:30 my cardiologist came by to check on me. I explained the situation. He seemed quite surprised and said that he would call her and tell her to discharge me immediately. Seven hours later, at approximately 3:00 she came and said my kidney failure had responded well to treatment and she was discharging me.
