Dr. Nam Tran is a neuro-oncology surgeon at Moffitt Cancer Center and assistant professor of oncology and neurosurgery at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Tran completed his fellowship training at Moffitt, following a residency in neurosurgery at Medical College of Virginia. He was chief resident his final year. Prior to that, he was affiliated for several years with the University of California-Irvine, where he received a Ph.D. in neuroscience and served as an assistant project scientist.Dr. Tran's research interests include regulation of the blood brain barrier, tumor and trauma-associated cerebral edema, central nervous system malignancies and spine biomechanics. He has received advanced training in minimally invasive spine techniques and artificial disc replacement surgery. Dr. Tran has a strong commitment to community service. During medical school at the University of Arizona, he coordinated the Bethany House Women's & Children's Center Health Clinic …and Primavera Indigent Health Clinic. More recently, he worked with the Guatemala Ministry of Health to establish medical missions to Guatemala City. In 2008, he was asked to speak about spina bifida at the Second International Symposium on Neural Tube Defects at the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Guatemala. Dr. Tran is fluent in Vietnamese and English.

You would have better medical treatment at a walk-in clinic tran is sloppy and careless a 2hr out patient procedure turned into 3 more surgeries at this point 3+ weeks out of work and nowhere near better more procedures to come he doesn't put notes on your file for the other doctor's in the hospital so nobody knows what's going on this is how he hides his screwups our primary doctor said not to trust him dude's a hack and probably started in a storage unit

Dr Tran saved my life by removing a large cancerous tumor inside my spinal cord. This surgery carried a very high risk, but two years later I am cancer free and have resumed all normal activities. Thank you Dr. Tran.

This man done to surgeries on me. The 1st surgery I was 6 weeks in the cage collapsed and almost suffered my spinal cord. Second one they did emergency surgery kept complaining of my right arm. And another kicker is they never ordered a bone density test either. He would say what you're feeling is gonna go away and unfortunately it never did. Instead of trying to help me , he washed his hands of me. And said well I don't know what to tell you. And it took me over 2 years to get on disability when I couldn't even raise my right arm. And then come to find out once I was on disability the nurse that would come from the insurance company. I found out he done several surgeries on her as well in messed her life up as well. I would never recommend this man to anyone. I hope what comes around goes around.

Dr Tran saved my life. When I was first diagnosed with metastatic cancer at my local hospital I was told the cancer was too far advanced and nothing could be done. I insisted on a second opinion and went to Moffitt Cancer Center and was evaluated by a team of physicians which included Dr Tran. Dr Tran is compassionate, incredibly skilled and cares about his patients. I have required a second surgery and my care has been equally exceptional - highly recommend Dr Nam Tran
