Dr. Namrata Dhillon, MD

Initially Dr. Dhillon seemed very nice. She really seemed to listen and I was impressed. She did a whole bunch of lab work and it all came back negative for rheumatoid arthritis. She told me that it's possible to have RA even if all my labs are negative. She asked if I was okay with taking medication and, because I was feeling awful, I said yes. She started me on sulfasalazine. About a month later she told me that my white count was so low that I would have to have my blood drawn again soon and would have to stop the medication if my white count didn't come up. My white count did come up and I remained on the medication. In the meantime, I had started to read a book about autoimmune disorders by Dr Susan Blum. I read a description of symptoms caused by Dairy sensitivity and it listed all of my symptoms. On my own, I stopped taking sulfasalazine and I stopped eating all dairy from all animals. To my surprise and relief, all my symptoms went away. (That was a year ago and about 80% of my… symptoms are still gone. I remain dairy free and off all prescription medication). At one point I asked Dr. Dhillon if I had rheumatoid or osteoarthritis. She told me I had both. So at my next visit, I told her I can stopped taking sulfasalazine and stopped eating dairy, and all my symptoms were gone. I asked her if she would remove the diagnosis of RA from my chart. She looked at my hands and told me that she did not put rheumatoid arthritis as a diagnosis. She told me she wrote inflammatory arthritis. That ended our conversation. She also told me that she was moving and if I wanted to see a rheumatologist, that I could contact her office for a referral. When I actually saw my chart, I found both inflammatory arthritis and chronic fatigue syndrome, which was a complete surprise to me. I had told Dr. Dhillon that I was tired a lot, but she .did not tell me that she made a diagnosis. She did not even mention chronic fatigue syndrome. I think I will try a primary care doctor or maybe a naturopath with a good reputation, rather than going back to a rheumatologist. This was not a good experience
