Dr. Nancy Carol Ayres, MD

Dr. Ayers made me feel like I wasn't losing my mind. I recently was diagnosed with some serious conditions, and was really concerned with my future. She made me feel very secure in that we will figure it all out and get it together. I couldn't have chosen a better physician if I had my pick. She is a one of a kind. Not only knows her profession, but cares as well. Her bedside manner is top notch. I would give more starts if I could.

Dr. Ayers has been my primary care physician for many years. She is perceptive and up-to-date. Very confident in her own ability but perfectly willing to initiate referrals when appropriate. Considers the "whole" patient in her treatment plans.

Do not see for HRT if you're transgender, or in all likelihood if you're cisgender. She doesn't understand it. I know the drive to Norfolk or VA Beach to see a doctor may be a pain if you live on the Peninsula, but Dr. Ayres refuses to get you to the blood levels specified by the Endocrine Society and Royal Academy of Psychiatry, and her staff are viciously rude. The amount of time and money I wasted because of seeing her was a detriment to my health, I do not recommend any transgender people seeing her for HRT.

I love the doctor. However her receptionist is very rude and is a want to be doctor. She is just a person that shouldn't be working with the public. The doctors downfall is definately her

The ladies at this office have a great harmony, knowledge and very courteous caring and they WANT to help! They open at 7:30 am to accomodate their patients on the way to work, clean office and very respectful of your time. The knowledge is amazing, Dr Ayres thank you!

The ladies behind the desk are cold. They do not seem concerned. From what the ladies at the desk said no appointments are available in the afternoons and closed on fridays. Then I was told Dr. Ayres was on vacation for 2 weeks and she never asked what my appointment was for to refer me with a different Dr since Dr. Ayres was out. After this last experience I knew it was time to seek a different Dr.

Having had a most unpleasant experience with another "women's healthcare" facility, I was seeking a seasoned female practitioner, knowledgeable and caring, and I found her in Dr. Ayres. I found her staff wonderful too. I make the first appointment of the morning and have not yet waited. I got a referral and a prescription on a separate day just by stopping by the office.

Dr. Ayres always spends time with me. She never makes me feel like she is in a hurry. FANTASTIC Doctor!

I heard about going to Dr. Ayres because she gives out drugs so easily. I get headaches and many docs are suspicious when I ask for pain meds. However, drugs or no drugs, I can't stand waiting that long and being mistreated by her staff. I've spoken with her about this and she doesn't really care.
