Dr. Nancy Duval Berube, MD

In my years (20+) of having Nancy D. Berube, MD, as my PCP is have found her to be a kind, caring, and compassionate physician/person. She takes as much time as needed with each patient, and while this may sometimes keep other patients waiting, and about which they will grump except, of course, when she takes time with them. My rating is 5+ stars.

very caring and thorough, tends to run late though

I have been a patient with Dr. Berube for years and can't say enough good things about her. Unlike some Doctors who are cold and lack bedside manner, Dr. Berube is kind, compassionate and always wearing a smile. Yes the wait times to see her can be long but I know this in advance and schedule accordingly. One of the reasons its takes so long to see her bec she is thorough and wants to make sure she gives each patient her full attention. I always feel heard and that's nice after dealing with Doctors who try to rush you out after five minutes.

Dr Berube is very rude and condisending..insensitive to my needs with my medical needs..treatening in front of my two children. Need to find another MD as soon as possible.. Don't like the way she treats me!! Shouldn't be practicing med.

I have been a patient of Dr. Berube for over 15 years. She is, by far, the best family physician I have seen. Yes, I do have to wait when I get to see her, sometimes for as much as an hour, but I plan for it and bring work with me. The reason for the wait is why I like her. She spends an inordinate amount of time with her patients. She answers any questions. I never feel as if I am rushed in and out so that she can get a slew of patients through. Additionally, she treats me like a human with a brain. I am never talked down to.

Even if you are the first patient - every time you have to wait as she walks in to her office late from the parking lot. She does not share test results with her patients until their appointment. Even then she is so disorganized that she does not give results of test she ordered unless specifically requested during the appointment. Dr. Berube has no bedside manner and does not take an active role in referring patient to specialists. Dr. Berube is very slow in treating patients - they could be dead before she takes any action or see them for the next visit.

I had been a patient for a few years and had had a fairly good experience there and I had recommended family to this practice. I loved the NP there, Lisa. I had recommended that my mother in law go there; she said after a few visits that they refused to allow her to schedule visits at the same time as her younger son. I said it was a total fluke and they should keep going to the office because it must have been a misunderstanding. One day, I called to get titers for immunizations because I had no records of my immunizations and was traveling overseas. They told me to come in for without an appointment. When I got there, they acted like I was putting them out for coming in--though, they told me to come in and didn't say they were making special accommodations for me. I had a piece of paper with the titers I needed. It also contained other notes about international travel. The med assistant, Nancy, showed the paper to Dr. Berube and she said "I don't have time for this" thinking I… wanted answers to all the questions. Nancy the med assistant came out and said "Dr. Berube doesn't have time for this." I asked why they didn't tell me this over the phone because I just wanted titers and was told I didn't need an appointment. I started to explain why I needed them and Nancy said "I've been doing this for 27 years you don't need to explain to me" and walked off with my paper in the middle of me talking to her. I was shocked that I had been treated so disdainfully because I had been a "good" patient--referring people, paying on time, etc. I also had recently had a miscarriage and had spent a lot of time doctors offices recently and was really feeling vulnerable there anyway. I ended up going to the lab and I unfortunately started crying. She tried to make the case for me with the staff down the hall and they basically were totally indifferent and unapologetic. I got the titers but no one said anything to me about how I was treated. I later called Dr. Berube and explained the whole situation. She was defensive and indifferent. I have never been treated so poorly at a doctors office. When I moved, I asked for my medical records from Nancy. She asked why I was leaving and became confrontational. She never sent the records or the form I needed to ask for the transfer. I'd rather go without my records than interact with any of them again.

Dr. Berube has been my physician for years. I would absolutely recommend her. She is a doctor who after all these years still practices because she wants to help people. If you do not get in to see her in the early morning appointments, there will be a wait. But she is absolutely worth it. The reason is she takes all the time you need. She does not rush you out to try and make a dollar. I believe the negative comments are unwarranted.

If you have to rely on the staff for anything, even the most basic information, you're in deep trouble. Because you're not going to get what you need. The doctor should practice discretion and not belittle her clients.

THE OLD LADY IS NASTY AND INSULTING.SHE OVER BOOKS HER APPOINTMENTS JUST TO MAKE MONEY.YOU HAVE TO WAIT HOURS IN A HALL JUST TO SEE HER.PLUS SHE RUNS UNNECESSARY TESTS JUST TO MAKE THE MONEY.PLUS HER STAFF IS RUDE.
