Dr. Nancy Yoakum Blevins, MD

If you are wanting a doctor who is on your level fill with compassion and genuine care, Dr. Blevins is number one. She takes care of your every need and treats you like family. I miss her so much. She was my doctor when she was in Tennessee. I drive approximately 2 hours for 3 pregnancies because I didn’t want any one, but her. If I were to have another child, I would definitely make the 4 hour drive just to have her at my bedside. Huntsville is very lucky to have her.

I have been a patient of Dr. Blevins for several years now. She is the absolute best physician that I have ever gone to. She doesn't rush through examinations and you leave knowing that she has listened to your complaints and examined you thoroughly. She has delivered one of our children and will be delivering the second soon. She is very caring and compassionate. She is prompt about calling if there is a problem with any tests that have been done. The time spent waiting to see her may be a problem for some, however I would rather wait and know that she is going to take her time during my time with her. I would like to address the 1st person's review. The resident physicians are not the possession of Dr. Blevins. She is a physician in a position to teach and mentor medical students and residents (which are constantly being rotated through the UAB facility). As such, to rate her based on a resident's arrogance is just ridiculous!

Worst doctor I've ever seen. She had a very arrogant resident who told me I was on too many medicines without even asking anything about my medical history or having ever seen me before. It was obvious he had spent only about 30 seconds reading my chart. Neither the resident nor the doctor could explain why my mammogram was abnormal. Neither one of them listened while I explained my ankle was still hurting 7 months after I injured it. I never went back. I referred myself to another doctor and found out that I needed Surgery! to fix my ankle.

I am a L.P.N., Dr. Nancy Blevins is the best doctor who is full of compassion and knowledge. I first became a patient of hers when she practiced in Gainesboro, Tn. That was 13 years ago. She moved to Manchester, TN when I was 2 weeks from giving birth to my firts child. I trusted her so much and yes, loved her so much as a doctor, that i drove over 2 hours to deliver my baby with her. I also made that drive, to ensure my prenatal care with my other two children was with her. That's a lot of visits for 9 months times two. The drive was worth it! Now she is in Huntsville, AL. I can not find a doctor that can compare to her. I am now considering traveling there for my yearly exams. Like I said earlier, receiving care from her is worth traveling around the earth for. To make a long story short, you will never find a doctor who cares, who has the bedside manner as she does. She is more than a doctor, she is truely an angel!!!!
