Dr. Nancy Cao, MD

DR. CAO IS ABSOLUTELY AN AMAZING NEUROLOGIST. I HAVE NEVER HAD A PHYSICIAN THAT HAS TAKEN SO MUCH TIME WITH ME. SHE IS VERY APPROACHABLE AND POSITIVE. HER STAFF GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND WITHOUT HESITATING. I WOULD AND WILL REFER ANYONE WHO NEEDS TO SEE A NEUROLOGIST. SO THANKFUL FOR HER AND HER STAFF.

She only performed a few tests then left me without doing the rest that others do in their office. Couldn't recommend Half baked dr.!

My mom has a stroke, I took her to Beaumont hospital where dr Cao saw her, she seems to be knowledgeable about neurology but when my mom started having anxiety attacks she blew her off and sent us out of her office , she’s supposed to be a neurologist and psychiatrist. Well not a very good one. She said she had need seen anyone have panic attacks after having a stroke. She let my mom suffer with those horrible attacks. Never going back to her, she only wants easy cases to diagnose, and she’s always in a hurry. Not a good doctor. Don’t waste your time.

ZERO STARS I was referred to her by a few others doctors, because of my complicated case. I was told "she's one of the best." I unfortunately must have meet her past her prime. I brought a family member with me, to help remember things. Not only was I, but also my family member was ignored, spoke over and treated like our opinion or observations didn't matter. I was made to bring on my symptoms, then told to calm down. Who does that???!!! She did not want to hear about my problem. Just wanted to push drugs on me. I offered notes from my PT or other doctors. Not a glance. Everytime I tried to speak, she said "you need to focus on getting better." Why do you think I'm there lady??!!! I must have heard the same phrase over 30 times. I should have walked out, like my family member did. In my opinion, she does not deserve to practice any longer after what I observed during that visit. I've never been so furious and irritated that someone like her is in practice. I should… have walked out, there was a severe lack of exam, it was a crap show. She was a complete waste of time and money and I should have listened to my intuition. Avoid her.

Dr. Cao was recommended to us by our family physician. She first caught my daughters brain stem swelling when complaining of her eyes hurting. (Which several optometrist had just brushed off.) She soon had my daughter all better. Then when my daughter had a near fatal accident and was hospitalized for several weeks with brain damage and nerve damage in her legs- Dr. Cao was there nearly every single day to check on her progress and correlate her care. She was instrumental in my daughters recovery. In the months and year that followed, she helped bring my daughter back to a life of normalcy. To this day she still sees her to manage her seizures and the last bit of nerve damage left in her foot. But despite all that -she now drives, works full time, attends college and has a normal life. Thank you Dr. Cao.

Dr. Cao has been great in attempting to figure out a treatment plan for my menstrual migraines. For whatever reason my migraines are triggered every month prior and following my menstrual cycle. Over the years we've tried many different treatment options. Unfortunately nothing works consistently however that hasn't stopped Dr. Cao from listening to my migraine log and attempting to figure out the next coarse of treatment.

I had a headache for 5 weeks prior to being directed to Dr. Cao. At our first visit, she set me up to have a series of tests, and immediately initiated a three pronged treatment to address my problem. We went to work on my Hemoglobin, Blood pressure and Diet. Within a couple of days, my headache was gone. Now a year later, my Blood Pressure is stabilized, Hemoglobin is in a normal range, and I have lost 30 lbs.

Dr. Cao takes time to listen to symptoms and put together a plan to combat them. If the plan requires reconsideration, she does so tirelessly. My quality of life has improved markedly since I first met Dr. Cao over five years ago now. When I met her I had migraine at least 14 days per month. Now I am down to 2 days per month. She just does not give up researching possible treatment options and made my problem her problem.

Dr. Nancy Cao is a thorough, competent, caring Doctor. I was directed to her by my Primary Care Giver, after I had suffered headache for over 5 weeks. She utilized the test results that were posted from previous tests to begin my treatment immediately. Though she performed several tests of her own, the positive results of her initial treatment was evident within a week. I have been pain free, without medication for pain, for over 9 months. In my opinion, this Dr. knows her stuff. I have had four appointments, and always had minimum wait time.

Dr. Cao did not listen to me and talked over me. She didn't explain my tests results and she put me in a diagnostic box. My new neurologist is so much better. Dr. Cao has helpful staff and they were the highlight of my visits.
