Dr. Nancy Eileen Conroy, MD

Unfortunately there is no option for 0 stars. Possibly the worst doctor I have ever dealt with. Disrespectful, rude and incapable of listening. Astounding that she is employed.

I came in for an injury while pregnant. She knew I was in second semester and did not tell me she could not do the necessary exam (check the placenta) until she was ready to discharge me, leading to a huge miscommunication. She also was raising her voice and very rude.

Nancy Conroy MD was a complete disaster. I came into the ER in discomfort - complaining of a cyst in/around/near my vaginal area. I explained all of my symptoms, and shared that myself and my partner felt a ball-like shape in my groin. She began a full examination of my vagina and anus - and kept saying “I don’t see anything or feel anything”. Her attitude was dismissive, and she seemed frustrated that I was “wasting her time.” Emergency or not, she made me feel, the patient, crazy. She was quite rough in her examination - not lubricating the speculum and forced It inside, and I expressed discomfort. She didn’t care. She gave me 0 diagnosis - other than a possible muscular pull and did not want to give me an ultrasound. A woman herself, I was shocked by her treatment and disregard for empathy or care. I cried and voiced my complaints quite sternly to the other NYU staff that was checking me out of the ER - they listened and were kind. I asked for them to relay my experience to… their management/supervisor, and that is when I learned that Nancy Conroy (Chief of Service, Emergency Department) was their boss…. I made an appointment with Planned Parenthood (PP) two days later and I received a diagnosis of a Bartholin cyst. The doctor at PP (a woman) couldn’t believe that Nancy Conroy failed to diagnose me… to quote “it is so obviously a cyst. You can’t miss it” (PP). It is unbelievable to me that a simple diagnosis went unnoticed. Nancy Conroy’s skills or credentials should be re-evaluated by NYU and the board. I would like her to be notified of my complaint. She will remember me I am sure. I will never be stepping foot into the new (and beautiful) facilities of NYU Langone Cobble Hill EVER again. And I will not recommend the hospital to my community and the community at large.

Dr. Conroy refused to write a prescription for my son who has a chronic condition which he wndures excruciating pain and takes reguar doses of oxycodone. We went as far as allowing her to call my sons regular hemotologist to verify his condition and medication. Afterwards she still refused to prescribe ANY pain medications for use at home until Monday. We called and she spoke with his regular pharmacist whom verifies his medication and whom assures that he was due medication and recommended an alternative. So on this Saturday afternoon she threatened to call security and have us escorted out of NYU cobble hill emergency room. When asked why she wouldnt prescribe the medication she rudely stated "I dont feel comfortable prescribing narcotics to you" so she should feel uncomfortable being a physician too. She only didnt feel co fortable nevause my son in a black male and this was thee Worst healthcare experience ever!! Reporting her and NYU hospital to the health department!!

Nasty attitude does not listen to patients experiences. Whatever she think is good she does. She needs a revaluation soon
