Dr. Nancy Fan, MD

If this is the Nancy fan of saint francis is terrible , very dismissive lied on clinical notes of patient and said some very questionable things to be caring for a pregnant woman , proceeded to lie about comments that were made because patient was upset and crying in pain wasn’t disrespectful until she OFFERED 2 pain killers TO A PREGNANT PATIENT WITH ONE KIDNEY for abdominal cramping and was told she could go home because she was crying in distress smh terrible will be speaking with supervisor .

I have seen her about two or three times and every time I have had an interaction with her she was completely full of herself and rude. The first time we spoke regarding the paper work for my short term disability from work, while I was there and paying for that visit I asked if we could go over the results from Labcorp since no on had. She made it seem like it was something that was not important, left and came back and said "okay what part?" I was totally dumbfounded because you're my Dr. maybe you should go over everything so I understand. And just to make it clear to everyone this is my third pregnancy lost two last year, so things like that are very important to me. They also collected my urine when I came in and found blood and protein in my urine, when I asked about that she told me to stop worrying about things that don't have to deal with the pregnancy. Like really!! That would deal with the pregnancy especially when I have had two loses before and they both began with a… little bit of blood. But I stayed with the office because the midwife Kim B. And Dr. McIntosh are amazing and I really want to give birth with Dr. McIntosh. Either way ended up in the hospital Sunday because I was in pain the day and night before and had already called the after hour line at 12am and spoke with another Dr. whom advised me to drink a lot of water and relax and if still in pain to come in or if I didn't feel the baby move to come into Labor and Delivery. The next day still didn't feel her move mouth, and I tried cold drinks, sugary drinks, and even tried candy. I was worried so I went to the hospital, my bf took me. She was very abrasive, condescending, and rude! She would ask me a question but then yet have a smart remark with everything and it made it seem as though I was the Dr. and I should know what's going on. Either way she got a great earful from me, I'm a very sweet person and it's really hard to make me mad. But her personality and bed side manner is horrible and just complete bad vibes, will never, ever recommend her to anyone!! And just because of her I have decided to switch to Christiana, a I have always taken the 40 min ride to Saint Francis even though Christiana is 5 mins away. Only because I have had surgery there, and the staff is always personalable and caring. She is a horrible addition to Saint Francis, but in the end we all answer to one person and her money and knowledge will not save her when asked about how she treated people.

I have had positive experiences with Dr. Fan. All doctors are not exceptionally intelligent but she is. She answers questions directly and honestly and she has the ability to quickly identify potential sources of problems without being dismissive. A really good doc!

The doctor was professional and great. The office staff is horrible and the billing department is even worse. Trying to get ahold of someone is almost impossible and their voice mail says they will call within 48 hours. I've never received a call back. They don't pay any attention to your insurance and will send your test/blood work to who ever they feel like. When you call to have the matter resolved they blame everyone but themselves and say they will talk to their representative about it and never do. I switched to a new doctor and the new doctor has send a request for medical history over 4 times in the past 4 months receiving confirmation that Women to Women has received it but they pretend like they never receive anything. This office is a joke. The people are rude and have attitudes about everything and won't do anything to help you out. Don't go here! I now have to pay a $400 bill for a pap smear that my insurance would have covered if they sent it to the right place. I have… spent several months trying to get ahold of these people to resolve this issue and help me, the customer, out of this sticky situation they have put me in. There is no effort what so ever on their part.

The appointment was relaxed and not rushed. Its much easier to have a woman's touch.

ITwo years ago I met Dr. Fan in the emergency room. I did not have insurance and went to Saint Francis for heavy period bleeding. She actually came down to the ER to talk to me about my treatment options and gave me prescriptions to help with the bleeding and pain and then gave a specific time and day to follow up in her office. I called just to confirm my appointment and it was in the system. I was nervous because I didn't have any children and was concerned I might need a hysterectomy but Dr. Fan has managed to help control my periods AND I got pregnant and just had my son 7 months ago. She came in and did the delivery even though she wasn't on call. I have been very happy and have recommended Dr. Fan to any of my friends who don't have a gyn or don't like theirs.

I went to St. Francis Hospital for emergency surgery 15 months ago and Dr. Fan did the surgery. She was great, explaining everything to me and my family before the surgery and then seeing me every day until I left. I followed up with her and decided to switch gyn. I have been very satisfied with her care.

I have seen Dr. Fan for over 10 years and she delivered both of my children. She always seems warm and caring, asking about the children and empathizing with the difficulties of a working mom. I was very happy to see that she has been recognized repeatedly as a Top Doc in Delaware Today.
