Dr. Nancy Rodriguez Fernando, DO

Unless you like to be lectured and have your opinions criticized if they are not the same as hers, than you are not going to want to go to this doctor. I came to her knowing that I did not want my child to get a vaccine that day and clarified that I had every intention to get her vaccinated at my next appointment. Due to my nieceâ??s vaccination injury she got as an infant after getting multiple vaccines all at once, I am being very cautious as to when and how many vaccinations I give her. The nurse made her aware that there were going to be no immunizations and she barged into the office without introducing herself and started lecturing, questioning, judging and shaming me. Not that I owed her any explanation to my decision, because itâ??s our right to say no, but I briefly talked to her about my concerns and about my niece. She assumed she was autistic but I quickly corrected her. My niece is ten years old and has a mental age of 6 months. She was diagnosed with failure to thrive… shortly after her 2 month vaccinations. She does not talk, walk, eat by herself or communicate with us in any way because of a cluster of vaccines she received at 2 months old. Dr. Fernando said she could have half and brain and still have those issues. Obviously after 10 years we know she has a full brain and every test has come back negative. Dr. Fernando is clueless to say the least. Later on in the appointment I asked her about a couple other things non vaccine related and she had no answers for me. She spent the rest of the visit making passive aggressive remarks in baby talk to my daughter, insinuating I was a bad parent. On top of everything else she only spent about 30 seconds evaluating my daughter and rushing through everything. I would not trust this mean and immature physician with the medical care of anyone's child seeing how she has obviously not done any research to address minor medical questions to the large vaccination issues that are going on in this country. There was no reason why she needed to be outwardly mad at me just for not getting a vaccination for a sexually transmitted disease for my five month old. You would think that a medical professional would do their own research (especially if itâ??s in their own field of medicine) to make themselves familiar with the studies that have been published and not be mean and judgmental. A physician should not be ignorant to major medical issues and unfortunately that is exactly what was conveyed in the visit.
