Dr. Nancy Ann Lee, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Lee for over 20 years. I have known her to be nothing but caring, supportive, informative and generally does everything she can to help me be at my best. It is an extremely busy office and the staff works hard to keep it running efficiently. I have had a complete thyroidectomy. I follow Dr. Lee's instructions explicitly. Thank you, Dr. Lee. She is awful. My hair was falling out, I had no period, I was wetting the bed and often couldn't feel my extremities. I was losing weight rapidly. She said I was fine. I got a second opinion and I had a pituitary tumor and Cushing's Disease. I need to be on insulin and I had the tumor removed. She did not investigate my symptoms and had no compassion.

I'm not usually one to review a doctor, but my experience with Dr. Lee has been borderline horrible from the get-go. My rheumatologist found my hypothyroidism and had been treating it quite well, but I was referred to dr. Lee by my rheumatologist because of a mass in my thyroid that suddenly popped up. Every one of her office staff refuse to answer calls and have a "please give me 2 days to call you back" message on their answering machines. It took me weeks to get my referral in, get set up and then I had to wait two months for my appt (even though the mass in my neck swelled visibly overnight). During my biopsy, dr. Lee didn't deaden one area that she biopsied, which was quite painful. Later the mass was found to be precancerous at best so I had to have a complete thyroidectomy. I am two weeks post-op and still have no final pathology back on the mass to tell me whether or not it is cancerous. Dr. Lee seems very unsure of herself when I ask her questions and although my… hypothyroidism symptoms are still very visible she refuses to up my medication because I "fall in the middle of normal range". Even when my hypothyroidism began, I fell on the "low end of normal" scale (which is why it took 3 years to diagnose properly), so the middle range still isn't optimal range for me. If you are looking for a doctor that does procedures by the book, she's good. But if you are a complicated, difficult or otherwise "different" kind of case, I would definitely seek treatment elsewhere. As far as her staff goes, they are completely incompetent. Post-op dr. Lee told me to see her in two weeks for med alterations. When I called a few days later to schedule the appt. the scheduler was asking nonsensical questions or repeating the same questions over and over and just didn't make sense. It took 30 minutes to schedule the appt. today when I went in for the post-op appt, the nurse who took my vitals asked me to get on the scale. When I did, it said "error, step off". Instead of re-weighing me, she said "oh well. I'll just take two pounds off of your last weight and it will be fine." As someone whose weight is very important to diagnosis and treatment, that's not acceptable. Needless to say, I'm currently looking elsewhere for another endocrinologist

I have been seeing Dr. Lee, who I adore for almost a year now and have put up with the front office staff because of the doctor. It has gotten to the point that I am going to look for another doctor. The staff is rude, condescending, leaves you on hold or hangs up on you. I don't get call backs, have to call 3 to 4 times before I do when I have been very ill. Have been told to just call my family practice doctor for issues that are clearly thyroid related. If I could just bypass the rude staff and get to the doctor it would be great but right now, it is to much.

I moved recently and I miss Dr. Lee!!! She is the best doctor I've ever had-BAR NONE! She listens but she's also firm and very communicative. Keeps up with labs & prescriptions. She's overall a great doctor!

Dr. Lee is very sweet and caring, even though I know I'm a difficult patient.
