Dr. Nancy Summer Lerch, DDS

and set about fulfilling it. She became Accredited with the AACD in 1990, the fourth woman to ever do so. In order to keep her eye trained for the best in dental cosmetics and to help others attain Accreditation, she started as an examiner and mentor for the AACD in 1992. She went on the Board of Directors of the AACD and then became the editor of the AACD Journal from 1992 through 1994. In 2003 Dr. Lerch was nominated to AACD Ethics Committee, retiring as it Chair in 2007. She currently continues as an examiner for the Accreditation process and is both a Past-President of the New England Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, an affiliate of the AACD and a past Board member of same. She also currently serves on the Editorial Review Board of YourDentistryGuide.com, an online source for pertinent dental information; Radiant Life, a professional publication offering wellness information; and advisor to Cosmepedia.com, an online, experienced based, health professional search engine.
Dr. Lerch's …practice management style, her team's development in communication, and their patient satisfaction orientation, has earned her practice the "Best of New Haven" award by the regional Advocate newspaper fourteen year sin a row. She has appeared on local television shows, had New Haven Register articles featuring her practice and cosmetic dentistry, and has been consulted by major magazines, i.e. Vogue and Redbook, for articles they were writing about cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Lerch has lectured internationally and locally. She is deeply committed to all people getting what they want and the smile they deserve through cosmetic and preventive dentistry.
To that end she start “Hope In A Smile” offering free charitable Smile Design services to domestic abuse victims in New Haven, CT. In 2006 she was nominated to membership in the Pierre Fouchard Academy (PFA.) Candidates for active fellowship in PFA need to be ethical dentists who have made outstanding contributions to the art and science of dentistry and/or to society. In 2009 Dr. Lerch was a Steering Committee member of the second annual Connecticut Mission of Mercy where over 900 volunteers saw over 1800 patients in two days and provided over $800,000 of free dental care. It was an amazing and heart-warming experience!
Dr. Nancy Summer Lerch is married with two children. She loves to ski, read, spend time with friends and design beautiful smiles.
