Dr. Nancy Hinterberg Maloney, MD

She definitely seems very well informed on her field. Talked very fast and had difficulty hearing every word. Both visits felt very rushed. She is a very helpful and very likable person.

It took awhile to get in and my first visit she seemed stand offish, but after that all was well.

Dr Maloney told she only prescribes Tramadol a drug you have to be weaned off of

On my first visit Dr. Maloney stereotyped me as a drug addict. I've had three hip replacements, one of which resulted in a complex reconstruction. The next one required a bone graft. I also have spinal stenosis severe enough to be inoperable, need a shoulder replacement, and thumb surgery. My need to use pain medications is well documented; I have struggled 35 years. When she stereotyped me as a druggie, I asked her if she ever looked into my concrete medical information. She had no interest in it, and wrote I had a pain disorder in my record. I challenged her diagnosis asking again if she would look at my records at which time she chose to not work with me anymore. She should find another line of work. As a patient that suffers and does a good job dealing with it, the greatest amount of stress I endure is with callous and judgmental doctors like her. She should look at the facts, but will not.

Dr. Maloney is the worst doctor I have ever had to deal with. Two years ago I developed chronic debilitating pelvic pain. I have seen doctor after doctor after doctor trying to find answers. So far the only diagnosis that fit was endometriosis. I've had 3 surgeries in the past year to remove endometriosis but none of them provided any relief of pain so I was finally referred to a pain management doctor for help as it seems that this is not something that is going away anytime soon and would need a specific doctor to manage the pain medications I was on. My first appointment with Dr. Maloney had me in tears before I even left the office. She was cold and blamed me for the amount of pain meds that I was on at this point, as if I chose to be in pain and picked up these meds off the street or something. She was completely uncaring and cold. She wouldn't listen to word I was saying and offered no other suggestions for things that I could try that would offer a better solution than the… medication I was currently on. She would throw out a random drug name and then say but nevermind I'm not comfortable prescribing that. I have no idea what these medications were or why she wasn't going to prescribe them, or why for that matter she brought them up at all in that case. I left the appointment feeling completely dejected, ashamed and confused. My second appointment a month later didn't go any better. I had cut down to two less pain pills a day as she had asked me to do in the first appointment. I considered this to be an improvement and was proud that I was making progress. She told me to cut down again and that if Iwasn't ok with that then I could find another doctor. Once again she basically accused me of being an addict even though I have agreed to any drug and alchohol tests she would want me to take. (I don't even drink let alone anything else.) I made it through this appointment without crying until I got to my car. After receiving no help from whatsoever from Dr. Maloney I started looking into other pain management doctors, but because of the area my pain is in and because I'm already on a pain contract with Dr. Maloney, finding another doctor in this specialty is proving to be difficult. My third appointment was just as bad as the first two. She didn't even bother to sit down for this appointment. She asked how my abdomen was (My pain isn't abdomenal, it's pelvic). Then said she was cutting my pain pill doseage AGAIN. I told her that I had already made a huge effort to lower the amount I was taking and that I couldn't cut down anymore. I told her I woke up at night crying in pain because the amount was already so low. She hastily scribbled another perscription for the lower amount, thrust it in my hand and said she didn't want to see me again and good luck finding another doctor. After a whole 4 minutes she didn't allow me to say another word and walked out of the room. Until now I have never had a serious medical problem let alone a chronic one. Living life in pain every day is hard enough as it is without having a doctor like this shaming and tearing down her patients. I went to Dr. Maloney for help and she was nothing but cold and condescending. I woud never recommend someone going to see her. She has no compassion or people skills. I hope someday the high and mighty Dr. Maloney gets to experience what her patients go through everyday and perhaps she wouldn't be so hasty to judge and belittle them.

Nancy Maloney is one of the best physicians I have ever seen in my life. She knows exactly what she is doing and I have complete confidence that she can cure any patient.

Referred to Dr Maloney for shoulder / chest pain. She totally missed the 2 diagnosis of Cancer and needed acromioplasty on my shoulder. In short, she told me to suck it up and deal with the pain. Horrible Doctor!

I see dr. Maloney for pain management. She listens and actually cares about my life and what is going on in it. As I've stated before I don't think the doctors staff gets enough praise because Jan and Sharon her nurse are the best. They go out of their way to chat and listen always available on the phone when I need some help.The only fault I can see with Dr. Maloney is she is so busy with patients she can't spend more time with us which leaves out somethings that I would like to discuss.I would highly recommend her as the best pain management doc around central oregon and we are very lucky to have her
