I did spend approximately 2 hours in the docotrs office but It was all worth it. Dr. Miller-Rivero and her staff could not be more caring and professional. I am a young diabetic with many questions and concerns. Dr. Miller-Rivero took her time and carefully answered all my questions and eased my concerns. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone.

The wait time is on average 3 hours! Bring something to occupy yourself and don't bring little ones with you, you will regret it.

I am sitting in the waiting room with twenty or so patients that were all booked for a noon appointment. Apparently this is the way it always is--plan on spending 3-4 hours for an appointment. The receptionist stonewalls any questions on timing. Unfortunately not too many other eye docs do the macular degeneration treatment in the Hudson Valley so here we sit--waste a day every other month! Thinking of ordering a pizza!

Dr. Miller-Rivero was a delight. I was so worried when I came to the appointment but she explained my diagnosis carefully to me, allowed me to ask questions and answered all of them. She assured me that I was going to be ok and I feel safe with her care. She was polite and very professional.

I normally don't write reviews nor feel right writing a discouraging one, but after much thought I felt it was best to share my experience because I would never want anyone to go through what I went through. I stopped going there due to several reasons. With each appointment that I had, I would have to leave myself at least two hours. It has never taken me less than two hours to complete a visit. Secondly, when you actually got to see Dr. Nancy Miller Rivero, she did not say much nor take the time to really evaluate your condition. Unfortunately, I had a torn retina and had to get surgery immediately. However, they scheduled me two weeks out. In addition, after the surgery, my vision was worse. With each monthly visit I explained to Dr. Miller Rivero that my eyesight was not getting better, but she kept stating that it would take "time." Unfortunately, it was not "time" that cured my eyesight. After 1 year from my surgery, I was told by the Dr that I had I get a SECOND retinal… surgery because my retina wasn't attached. I was so upset that I vowed never to step into that office ever again. Please, please take the time to research your doctor to find one that will take the time and listen. Luckily, I got a second opinion from a doctor who did not recommend the surgery she originally had done and what really scared me was that the second survey that Dr. Miller wanted to perform would've caused cataracts in the future which she NEVER mentioned.

If you have a retina problem you could not be in better hands

You need to plan being there for at least two hours before you get seen. It felt rushed. I was very hesitant when I was told that another retinal surgery had to be done when the first one was unsuccessful. I ended up leaving and finding another specialist.

Dr. Miller-Rivero is kind, caring, compassionate, competent, and honest. She takes the time necessary to work with you and tells the truth as gently as possible. My only complaint is the amount of time you spend waiting. This is due to the length of time she spends with each patient. I have never been steered wrong by her and trust her with my eyesight. I'd recommend her to all my family & friends. God bless her!
