Dr. Nancy Kay Swisher, MD

Dr. Swisher does not listen to you, nor does she believe you. I had problems with dizziness, neck pain, and numbness in both my hands. She said it was anxiety & put me on antidepressants. My symptoms didn't change, and every month for about three months, I called her office to notify them of this. I was still told it was in my head, I needed to exercise (which I was doing before and had to stop due to how I was feeling), and increased the dosage rate of my antidepressants. After about three months, I had to go to the ER, because I woke up one morning, unable to move my left shoulder. The ER doctor ordered x-rays, and discovered a disc in my neck was essentially gone, and had severe degeneration in two vertebrae. I went to a new doctor, who ordered an MRI and confirmed the degeneration, along with discovering I also had spinal stenosis. In all that time, she never did something as simple as taking an x-ray, because she didn't listen, nor believe a word of what I told her.

If there could be a negative star, I would give it. I got on this website to look for a new family doctor as I am very dissatisfied with the care my family and I are receiving from Dr. Swisher. I noticed other patients have had similar experiences, stating she cuts you off while stating your concerns. On multiple occasions she has made me feel like I was completely crazy and didn't know my own body at.all. I went to a specialist, only to find I have 3 + large tumors in my abdomen that needed to biopsied and treated. The boating and weight gain WAS NOT just in my head. I should NOT have been dismissed nor made to feel like I was making up my symptoms. That's not all, but this should be enough information to help you make an informed decision.

This doctor will cut you off while talking. While explaining things to her she has a look on her face like she doesn't believe you. She raises her eyebrows and flares her nostrils. She is very uncaring and intimidating. Everything else was fine at the office.

She was courteous and polite. She listened to what I had to say - unlike other doctors who cut me off and assume they know by my first 2 sentences that they know what's going on. She was methodical - planning the right meds and making sure we follow up each month to ensure it's working correctly before making any more changes. Definitely recommend her. Also, hardly any wait time. I was called in at exact appt time and waited maybe 5 min.
