Summary

My Qualifications

I received my medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco. My pediatric residency was completed at Oakland Children's Hospital and I completed a one year neonatal fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. I am board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics. I joined The Permanente Medical Group in 1985 and worked at the Santa Rosa facility for 12 years. During that time, I was medical director of a Level II neonatal intensive care unit, worked in the clinic as well as the hospital, and served on various committees. I have always had a strong interest in public health and participated in community and public health programs. I organized and served as chief of a Child Death Reveiw Committee in Sonoma County for several years. In 1997, I took a year off from Kaiser and went to Boston to obtain a Master of Public Health from Harvard University. The Master's degree has allowed me to work in various different capacities over the past few years - I have served as chief of Diversity Committee for Kaiser, San Francisco. I have been a commissioner of Children and Families First in San Francisco, and also had the exciting opportunity to work as chief of Division of Primary Care, Medical Education Branch, Department of Health and Human Services in Washington DC for a couple of years. I joined the Kaiser Roseville pediatric clinic in 2002, and have been enjoying a large outpatient practice.

Before becoming a physician, I helped develop a community health clinic and also worked as a medical assistant, lab technician, translator and a ward clerk. I definitely feel I have a good sense of the whole health care dynamics - not just what it's like to be a doctor!!

My Healthcare Practice

There are many ways to bring up a child. Parents have different styles and different beliefs; and children have different temperaments, and learn at different rates. I enjoy working with each individually unique family to help raise an emotionally and physically healthy child. I enjoy cultural and ethnic diversity and learning from my patients about their life experiences. Children have very simple needs – they want to be loved, feel safe and healthy. I feel privileged to be able to work with children and their families; and get a tremendous satisfaction in participating in a child’s health and well-being. I am fluent in Spanish as well as English.

Receiving Your Healthcare From Kaiser Permanente

Kaiser allows me to practice medicine and deliver the quality of care I feel a patient deserves. I have never been told I could not order a certain test or make a specialty referral.

When you call for an appointment, every effort will be made to have your child see me. However, if I am unavailable, one of my associates will be able to take care of your child's health care needs. My associates are Drs. Rabinovitz and Don and Nurse Practitioner Crawford.

My Outside Interests

I have one child who makes me incredibly proud to be his mom. I enjoy traveling. In 2003 I spent time in Galapagos, Machu Picchu and the Amazon Jungle. This year I spent time in the Canadian Rockies at a Dude Ranch, and more recently a week in Oaxaca, Mexico doing volunteer work. It's all been an incredible adventure!! I am affiliated with the Hispanic Empowerment Association of Roseville, the American Public Health Association, and belong to the Commonwealth Fund/Harvard University Alumni Fellowship whose interest and programs are to improve health care for disadvantaged and underserved populations.

Ensuring Data Transparency and Trust: A Guide to Vitals Doctor Listings and Reviews

Our provider data is gathered directly from physicians and publicly available databases. Providers who verify their profiles gain the ability to update information, offering additional details about their specialties, education, treated conditions, performed procedures, and accepted insurances.

Reviews on Vitals are submitted by users only. Recognizing the valuable insights these reviews offer into a doctor's reputation, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Importantly, providers cannot delete or alter reviews independently. Reviews can only be deleted or changed following an internal assessment by our customer service team.

Your feedback is highly valued and we encourage you to contact our support team should you encounter any issues.
