Dr. Nancy C Wheeler, MD

I’ve never seen such ineptness or unprofessionalism. Visits last 5 minutes and it’s all about pushing pills without listening to what is even going on. Not up to date on literature nor new treatments. Poor and costly medical mistakes.

If I could give 0 stars I would- Dr. Wheeler is only seemingly in her profession for the money. Each medication change (I was on 8+ over the course of a year) came at a 200$ a pop visit (and that's supposed to be for an hour and I literally got rushed out after 20 or so minutes every appointment) - and that's after the $500 for the initial consult...when in crisis, Dr. Wheeler would not help- instead insisting that an emergency room visit out of state was in order when all that was needed was a medication refill. But of course, no $200, no refill. Also, mental health professionals generally have a 24 hour support line/answering service- no so for Dr. Wheeler, after 9pm you might as well just suffer until morning or hit the emergency room where we all know mental health related medical issues aren't treated with respect or taken seriously. I strongly advise that anyone who wants a Dr. who cares and isn't just in it to make money off of ill patients reconsider trying Dr. Wheeler and… look elsewhere.

Has always expressed interest in learning more about my symptoms in order to make a diagnosis. I've seen Dr. Wheeler for a NUMBER of years and am always struck by her compassion and competence.

Dr. Wheeler left me hanging when I was most in need of care. She failed to be available for a couple scheduled appointments. A downright heartless doctor, if you ask me.

Dr. Wheeler considers not only my mental state but also its relationship to my physical state and the stressors in my life. She suggested that I might be vitamin-deficient, and I was. She also suggested I check out a possible cancer, which I do have. She is awesome; best doctor I have ever seen.

Dr. Wheeler is, by far, the best, most highly skilled and talented psychiatrist I have ever seen (I have seen many as I have a longterm LTMI). I have seen Dr. Wheeler for 7 years, the last 3 commuting from WV ( a 6 hour drive). Dr. Wheeler is exceptional in her knowledge of medications as I have been stable for the first time in many, many years. Her diangosis and medication regime were spot on. She is excellent in ease of appt, very personable and professional, always on time, was attentive to me and also met my needs for telephone consultation between appts every 3 months, spends time with me and has an excellent bedside manner. Staff were always courteous and met my needs between and during appts. I highly recommend Dr. Wheeler.

Sometimes people in this field are really uncomfortable. I am so thankful I was referred to Dr. Wheeler, she is so relatable.

Not helping at all

I have been to several other docs... with no help. She seemed to really get my chapter in life kids / career and so on. Important to see someone who gets it!

Dr. Wheeler is a great doctor. Very knowledgable of medications. Alway take her time with me. Great follow-up, her secretary is great as well.
