Dr. Nandini Paul Sharma

I have been a patient of Dr Sharma for Many years. I found the doctor to be social, informative, direct, knowledgeable, and encouraging. She has followed my health issues with my other doctors. Her staff has always been supportive and efficient.

Dr Sharma does not have the best bedside manner, but as far as a physician specialist in Nephrology, she is absolutely outstanding. When your talking about Kidney disease, your talking about life and death. She has kept a friend of mine who is in his late 70's alive with just 1/4 of a kidney, and he is not only alive but thriving... Riding ATV's out in the desert and geocaching. Dr Sharma is one of the best in her field, and I can put up with lacking bedside manner of I trust the doctor who is opening me up on the surgery table, and I trust her!

Nandini Sharma is a poor excuse for a physician. She gave my mother less than minimal consultation time, to say the least. Her staff was very rude to my mother, especially Megan . She did not respect my request to have my mother's grim diagnosis be delivered with myself by her side; instead coldly delivering it to my mother (who was alone in a hospital bed), that she has cancer and that she (Sharma) needed to rush on to go see another patient. When Sharma finally returned my call, (she stated that she forgot to call)) she was extremely rude to me and told me she didn't have time to talk to me about my mother's condition and that I should just go to a pharmacy and get a blood pressure monitor myself. (my mother was hospitalized with over 200 BP). I consider Sharma's negligence, disrespect and basic incompetence a safety threat to all current and future patients.

I'm going to make the long haul to see Dr Sharma because she has been so good with my husband.

I felt rushed. I felt like she did not care. She didn't invite questions & when I asked one she just said that I didn't need that but didn't offer an explanation. She wanted a follow up every month but I never received a,call with the date. Southwest kidney got my intake sheet all wrong even which side my only kidney is on . Corrected 3x & us still wrong. Saw a different dr for my 2nd visit who was leaving the practice. Was told a 3 mo. follow up with a third dr who I haven't seen yet. My blood work showed my kidney is worse but when they called me for repeat bloodwork, they only said my magnesium was low which it has been & I'm on a supplement. I was told to eat foods high in Mg. I asked if I should take more supplement & was told they would call me. They didn't. I asked what my GFR was & found out it dropped 9 points.. not told to get a scan..nothing. I will find a new place to go.
