Dr. Narendir Tolaram Soorya, MD

I’m an adult now and although I’m aware of my chemical imbalance I’m aware that my depressive and manic states are triggered by environmental factors instead of uncontrollably emotionally ones…I was in foster care and Soorya put me on lithium to shut me up…his office was where the Lutheran nursing school is now…. Not one visit was I required to pee in a cup or was blood drawn so it was possible for me to have had lithium poisoning but that wasn’t of importance to him… I would sit down and he would ask, “what do you want to tell me today?” Only God know what he was scribbling in them notes when I never had anything to say…please get a second opinion dealing with this man because my first opinion had already tried me on a trial of Paul’ Paxil and immediately dc’d it encouraging my guardian to find a constructive outlet for my energy and by God’s Grace all these years later that’s how I cope…rest in peace Dr. Homer Nash…shame on you Dr. Soorya…

Always runs 2 or more hours late for appointments. Spends less than 5 minutes asking one or two questions of patients and really not interested in their responses. Could care less about patients but just wants to bill the insurance company as much as possible. Really needs to find another way to finance his old age so he can do everyone a favor and retire. If I could have given a negative rating, I would have.

Dr. Soorya is NEVER on time. Plan on waiting at least 30 minutes every time, but on average, plan on waiting over a hour. It seems that Dr. Soorya has the best interest of the patient in mind, but there is so little discussion of what’s really going on, or his opinion/diagnosis that it’s hard to tell. My son did not feel “connected” with Dr. Soorya and, therefore, didn’t feel he could tell him how things were really going. The office staff is too busy to be bothered with anything that they feel is unimportant, and often keep you waiting in line for 10 minutes. But don’t you dare carry a balance on your account bc they will tell you every time. And you better have proof that you mailed payment in. The waiting room is stark and sterile looking. It FEELS like a psych ward. I recommend you wait to get in to a better child psychiatrist. You will be glad you did.
