Dr. Narendra Ramanbhai Patel, MD

I went after being referred by my PCP (primary care provider) I sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes was only actually with the doctor. No vitals were taken at all when i finally got pulled back to the room. He kept blaming my headaches on pms after not having a period for two years due to my birth control. When asking me my family history he kept interrupting me making it unable to answer his questions he then went to ask me my blood pressure instead of having a medical assistant take any of my vitals. Staff was very unprofessional would NOT recommend going to see him.

I saw Dr. Patel in the fall of 2018. I was not sure what to expect. Dr. Patel was kind and thoughtful. He made connections for me that were insiteful . He considered my learning differences on some of the tests. . His style of asking questions seemed unusual. He would ask if i had noticed a change i.e slowing down of memory . and then later on if my friends had noticed this change. He ordered an MRI that showed disk/nerve connection in my neck. This had not been picked up on in the other MRI's. It explaines some of the numbness. I feel like there is a diagnosis i can move forward with.

I came in to doctor Patel’s office with symptoms of numbness, episodes of paralysis, loss of sensation and the list goes on. Upon arrival I told him my symptoms and he didn’t believe a word I said. Mind you I’m a 35 yr old mom of 4 boys. He stopped me from talking and asked my mother if I was telling the truth. He proceeded to bring up post partuam. In which I had my last child almost 3 years ago. I kept repeating myself that no i I didn’t just have a baby. But he insisted that I did. He even put it in my request for my mri that I was 4 months Postpartum!! He then proceeded to ask if I was on anything or had taking anything. He asked me to walk a straight line in which that day I was having trouble walking. He then asked if I had had anything to drink that morning. He manipulated the neuropathy test to show that my muscles were contracting when they weren’t. Started to repeat the same questions just in different forms. Since I wasn’t changing my answers he proceeded to get… frustrated with me. Due to my persistence he finally requested an mri then proceeded to tell me that we won’t find anything. Mri results came back and I have swelling of the brain and 2 lesions. He called and told me over the phone my results and was not concerned about anything! He brought up Postpartum again in which I told him I didn’t just have a baby. He asked questions that were already discussed at the office. I proceeded to ask him what would cause this and he stated he didn’t know. I could go on. But I think this is enough. Please please please do not come to dr. Patel.

Dr. Patel is one of the most compassionate and most humble physicians I have ever had. He takes the extra time to answer all of my questions and really listens to what I have to say. He is a wonderful doctor and I am really grateful for his care.

I had gotten a traumatic brain bleed in the beginning of the summer and it really felt like I was a totally different person. I was angry at everyone when I was in the hospital and I could not give you any reasons why, everyone was just trying to help. I acted out to my doctors and once the situation was over and I was left alone in my room again, I would question myself as to why I just got so mad and I didn't have any answers. I was afraid that I was not going to ever be myself again, I was very angry for awhile after wards and that started to go away, but now im still dealing with impatience, anxiety, panic modes that I never use to have to deal with... I felt as though I was going crazy. I had been to see so many doctors and every single one of them had a different answer or a different theory of what is going on and why im feeling the way I am. I was giving up hope and I felt like I was getting more and more depressed because I wasn't getting positive feedback as I was told by one… doctor that I would never smell again and that my hearing loss that I did lose would never return. I was devastated. It was not until my dad had questioned me and asked if I had set up an apt with Dr. Patel the neurologist and I said I hadn't yet and I that I would. I really didn't want to go see another doctor and hear the same bad news that keeps getting thrown at me, well I went to see him anyways and I had recognized him, Dr. Patel was the neurologist at the hospital when the bleed had first happened. I was so embarrassed because I knew that he saw how I acted out with anger and how he probably thought I was extremely rude, I decided to start the apt. off with that I was sorry for how I acted and told him that I did not know why I was so angry, because I really didn't and he responded with "no no its the trauma from the incident, its not you." He made me feel positive again and told me that I would get my smell and hearing back despite what the other doctors said and guess what! My smell and hearing are improving little by little each day. By my senses coming back after being told I would never have them again just makes me feel like the other doctors didn't take the time to really analyze my medical reports, like he did because he was spot on with everything he said. very humble.He is great at his job and he really takes his time with explaining to make sure you understand what is going on with yourself. I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Patel, even his office is kind and friendly.

This doctor is the most caring and thorough physician I have ever seen.

It took about 2 months to get in to see the doctor but my condition was not life threatening so that was not a problem for me.

I suffer from Migraines from menegitis and have had several strokes - very gentle and kind doctor. He has seen me through the worst.
