Excellent doctor who shows great compassion while involving me completely in all decisions. Bedside manner great and has great sense of humor

Asked to come in 30 min prior to appt time to fill out paper work and do lab work. Still took over an hour to be taken to a room and wait another 20 min.

Out of all the MDs I have ever seen in my life, Dr. Bellum is by far the worst. For someone who works in hematology and oncology, he possesses absolutely no warmth or compassion. He is the coldest MD I have ever seen and I will never see him again. I have told many people about the cruel and unacceptable things he said to me while I was being evaluated for a diagnosis. UAB and all patients would be better off without him. I'm sure he possesses some fine qualities, but he selected the wrong profession.

I was totally prepared not to like this gentleman and within minutes of our first visit he had won my professional respect and confidence. He is incredibly thorough in taking patient history and addresses each problem or concern individually. He is receptive to information regarding patient and has the patient and the family foremost in his decisions. I have found his staff to be incredible - even for small things, they are concerned and really helpful. We are in ongoing treatment with Dr. Bellam and under the difficult circumstances, he is the BEST!
