Dr. Nasim Fazel, MD

I went to Dr. Fazel to start my long, grueling treatment for acne. She was very responsive to my medical needs and was there for me, in and outside of the clinic, when I was having difficulties with the side effects of the medication and pharmacy issues. Overall great experience and will definitely return to her for any future derm appointments.

I have been taking my teenage daughter to Dr. Fazel for 3 years now. I have gone to several Dr. prior to her but didn't have the right result. She has been able to diagnose her problems and keep it under control for the entire time. She is extremely professional a thorough.

I have a very rare form of vasculitis called Behcet's Disease. There are only around 15,000 people in the US with it, which means the odds of having it are somewhere around 1 in 23 million (give or take). ;) Because it is so rare, most patients have to wait 9 years to receive a diagnosis - yet Dr Fazel was able to diagnose me the very first time I saw her (during my second hospitalization - first time at UCDavis, but after I had already seen handfuls of doctors that had no idea what was causing my issues). Since the first day I saw her in 2005, she has been a cornerstone of my healthcare and one of the biggest reasons I am as stable as I am today. She's seen me through countless appointments, tests, procedures, biopsies, and 9 more hospitalizations (even calling a non-emergency ambulance one time to admit me directly from her clinic). The only reason I am no longer a patient of Dr Fazel's is because I moved from California to Tennessee mid-2016 - and sadly, she wouldn't take me up on… my offer to split the cost of the U-Haul so she would move to TN also! I was devastated to have to leave her! She is by far the most personally connected and invested physician I've ever seen. Since Day One, she encouraged me to stay in touch with her and to keep her updated on any change in my condition - and this started long before the MyChart messaging system UCDavis now uses! She's always replied in a very timely manner, and has never once made me seem like an inconvenience. After 11 years of continuous care by Dr Fazel, my health is now better than than ever. I attribute that in *large* part to her fastidious attention to my treatment. She is kind, patient, attentive ... not to mention a brilliant doctor, and is happy to collaborate with other specialists to manage care. She travels the world presenting conferences with her unique knowledge and experiences, but when you are sitting in her clinic room (or hospital bed), she really has a way of making you feel like you're her only patient. If it seems like I just can't say enough good things about Dr Fazel, it's because I can't. She's a rare gem in the world of physicians, and whether you have a common skin issue or a rare systemic disease, I could not recommend Dr. Fazel more highly to you!!!

Terrible bedside manner. Left the office in tears. On my second visit she said she "couldn't help me" and just kept prescribing higher and higher doses of a medicine that makes you really drowsy (but not itch). She noted eczema patches during the visit but the medical record read no eczema noted...bad bad bad, and constant problems with scripts she wrote.
